THREE Penhill ABC youngsters travelled to Kingswood in Bristol recently for a show hosted by National Smeltings ABC.
First up was Jake Knowles in a 43kg bout against Downend’s Ben Demmery. Knowles started the first well, landing heavy left and right hand punches.
The second round saw both boys land good punches with Knowles edging the session.
In the third, Knowles had his opponent on the ropes to seal a unanimous points decision.
James Richards was up next for Penhill in a 60kg bout with National Smeltings’ Jake Musgrove, who had won seven out of 10 bouts from ABC.
This didn't deter Richards, who dominated the fight from the firstround, landing two and three-punch combinations to take another unanimous verdict.
Next up was Louis Trinder in a 54kg bout with Tyler Davis from National Smelting. Trinder dropped a majority decision in an all-action bout.
Penhill Coach Simon Knowles said: “Jake is a raw boy but coming on well and has won three of his last four fights. “James had a good lad in front of him, so it’s a great win for him and Louis was unlucky not to get thedecision in what can only be described as a very close bout.”
