BRIGHTON v TOWN: Paynter out for Seagulls trip, Darby starts

BILLY Paynter is out of Town's trip to Brighton this afternoon with a hamstring injury.

The 22-goal top scorer didn't travel to Sussex with the squad, meaning Vincent Pericard gets his second start in a week alongside the recalled Charlie Austin.

There is a debut however for Stephen Darby, recruited this week on loan from Liverpool, who starts at right-back in place of Kevin Amankwaah.

Centre-back and captain Gordon Greer steps up from the bench, with Sean Morrison missing out altogether through a groin injury, while Mark Marshall is also among the replacements.

Brighton are unchanged, meaning former County Ground keeper Peter Brezovan starts in goal for the Seagulls.

BRIGHTON (4-5-1): Peter Brezovan; Inigo Calderon, Tommy Elphick, Adam El-Abd, Marcos Painter; Elliott Bennett, Andrew Crofts, Alan Navarro, Gary Dicker, Kazenga LuaLua; Glenn Murray

Subs: Mitchell Walker, Gavin Hoyte, Jim McNulty, Gary Hart, Sebastien Carole, Nicky Forster, Chris Holroyd

TOWN (4-4-2): David Lucas; Stephen Darby, Scott Cuthbert, Gordon Greer, Alan Sheehan; Jon-Paul McGovern, Simon Ferry, Jonathan Douglas, Danny Ward; Vincent Pericard, Charlie Austin

Subs: Phil Smith, Kevin Amankwaah, Lecsinel Jean-Francois, Craig Easton, Michael Timlin, Matt Ritchie, Mark Marshall

Our team of charity bike-riders have arrived safely - congratulations to all of them, a great effort.
I would say that they are not the first people to have sore @rses in Brighton - but that would be just childish.

Bloody harsh on Sean Morrison if he's not injured to not even be on the bench.

Should have left the kid at Southend & let him play.

Poor man-management by Danny in my book & i bet Sean's not a happy boy.

Even poorer brain cells by me as i didn't realise Sean was injured.

I jumped into a big hole to post this.

From where I was sitting at Brighton, which wasn't anywhere near the game, I thought Mark Marshall did a super job yesterday, couple of wayword shots and some wild passing but overall worth his spot yesterday. Phil looked very tentative between the sticks but did have a couple of good saves, could have been a problem if he had been really tested. The new scouser looked very solid. With all the injuries we have a problem Houston !!
