SOUTHAMPTON v TOWN: Ward passed fit, Marshall starts Saints trip

By Anthony Marshall

DANNY Ward has been passed fit to start for Town tonight away at Southampton in League One.

The on-loan Bolton forward took a nasty blow to the head in Saturday's win at Brighton and was doubtful, but starts for Swindon at St Mary's Stadium up front alongside Charlie Austin.

Winger Mark Marshall is rewarded for his impressive cameo from the bench with a place on the left hand side of midfield, as Vincent Pericard has failed to recover from a hamstring strain, while Phil Smith takes over from hamstring-injury victim David Lucas in goal for Town.

A youthful visiting bench sees full-back Nathan Thompson step up in place of Kevin Amankwaah, and there is also a first senior squad involvement for 17-year-old forward Billy Bodin.

Southampton make one change from their win over Leeds, with Wayne Thomas replacing Jon Otsemobor.

SOUTHAMPTON (4-4-2): Kelvin Davis; Wayne Thomas, Radhi Jaidi, Jose Fonte, Dan Harding; Jason Puncheon, Dean Hammond (c), Morgan Schneiderlin, Adam Lallana; Rickie Lambert, Lee Barnard
