TRIPLE world champion Nicki Pedersen outclassed a strong field to take victory at Swindon's season-opening Bob Kilby Memorial meeting tonight.
Pedersen was imperious throughout, winning all of his seven races, and he led in Freddie Lindgren, Jason Crump and Krzysztof Kasprzak in the final.
Robins riders Leigh Adams and Simon Stead were both eliminated at the semi-final stage, while highly-rated Russian Emil Sayfutdinov failed to make the top eight.

Heat 1: N. Pedersen, Kasprzak, Adams, Risager (65.24)
Pedersen takes first from the gate.
Heat 2: Crump, Stead, Ulamek, Woffinden (65.39)
Crump wins comfortably. Stead nips past Ulamek on the back straight of lap two.
Heat 3: B. Pedersen, Lindgren, Andersen, Harris (66.92)
Lindgren tests Pedersen early on but fades away in the latter stages.
Heat 4: Korneliussen, Sayfutdinov, Jonasson, Gathercole (67.24)
A superb battle between Korneliussen and Sayfutdinov, but the Dane edges out his rival.
Heat 5: Kasprzak, Woffinden, Andersen, Jonasson (66.71)
No passing as Kasprzak gates and triumphs relatively comfortably.
Heat 6: N. Pedersen, Ulamek, Lindgren, Gathercole (66.80)
Pedersen shows his class from the gate once again.
Heat 7: Harris, Stead, Sayfutdinov, Risager (66.74)
A great effort from Stead to hold off the Russian, who just could not find a way past.
Heat 8: Adams, B. Pedersen, Crump, Korneliussen (67.30)
More like it from the Swindon captain who flies away at the start to win.
Heat 9: Kasprzak, Ulamek, Korneliussen, Harris (FX) (66.55)
Another terrific gate from Kasprzak. Korneliussen well-beaten by Ulamek.
Heat 10: N. Pedersen, B. Pedersen, Woffinden, Sayfutdinov (X) (awarded)
Sayfutdinov checks Bjarne Pedersen midway through and the race is awarded.
Heat 11: Crump, Gathercole, Risager, Andersen (R) (67.36)
Crump and Andersen exchange the lead several times before the latter retires on penultimate lap.
Heat 12 (re-run): Adams, Lindgren, Stead, Jonasson (FX) (awarded)
After the first false start, Jonasson careers into the air fence on lap three as he tries to get past Stead.
Heat 13: Kasprzak, Stead, B. Pedersen, Gathercole (66.95)
Stead rides a solid race but Kasprzak remains inspired.
Heat 14: N. Pedersen, Crump, Harris, Jonasson (66.74)
Not even Crump can get close to Pedersen as once again he nails the start.
Heat 15: Lindgren, Risager, Woffinden, Korneliussen (67.11)
Easy for the Wolves man. Risager rides well but Korneliussen is well off the pace now.
Heat 16: Adams, Andersen, Ulamek, Sayfutdinov (67.52)
It’s not been Sayfutdinov’s night and Adams seems to have his starts sorted.
Heat 17: Kasprzak, Crump, Sayfutdinov, Lindgren (67.14)
The Lakeside number one has to contend with both Crump and Sayfutdinov on his tail, but he never really looks in trouble.
Heat 18: N. Pedersen, Andersen, Stead, Korneliussen (67.65)
Faultless riding from Pedersen once again and he leads from the front throughout.
Heat 19: Ulamek, B. Pedersen, Risager, Frampton (FX) (awarded)
Frampton goes into the air fence without any contact. Race awarded.
Heat 20: Harris, Adams, Woffinden, Gathercole (67.55)
Excellent ride from Harris but Adams knows he’s done enough to make the top eight.
Semi-final one: N. Pedersen, Crump, B. Pedersen, Stead (66.83)
Crump has a look at the start of lap two but Nicki Pedersen slams the door shut.
Semi-final two: Kasprzak, Lindgren, Adams, Ulamek (67.63)
Adams left at the gate by Kasprzak and Lindgren and the Robins skipper cannot claw it back.
Final: Pedersen, Lindgren, Crump, Kasprzak (66.90)
Pedersen and Lindgren side by side out of bend one. The Dane is a fraction ahead into the second and pulls away on the straight.
