Di Canio and Caddis up for awards

PAOLO Di Canio has been nominated for the Football League Manager of the Month award for January.

The 43-year-old led Swindon to four successive victories in League Two, while he also masterminded the Robins' shock win over Wigan in the FA Cup.

Other nominees are Torquay boss Martin Ling and Barnet manager Lawrie Sanchez.

Meanwhile, Town skipper Paul Caddis has been shortlisted for the Player of the Month award.

The Scot is up against Torquay's Mark Ellis and Barnet's Ricky Holmes.

Think Paul Caddis has got a good chance for player of the month, didn't say in the article who is he up against.

Also IMO Paolo will again probably get overlooked by the FL suits for getting sent to the stands twice. Martin Ling will probably win it this month, doubt very much if Paulo is too bothered about it. more important to win games than personal alcolades.

I agree with old town robin. I think PDC would rather have team success than personal acolades. After all if the team wins and gets promoted then so does he.
I will be watching from the directors box tonight....COYR !!

BigJim, thanks for spelling acolades right, I had a feeling i spelt it wrong. unfortunately I can't access spell checker when I'm on the forum. I know for sure I will get get a mail from Malc advising Paolo doesn't drink alcolades or alcopops for that matter.

Sadly he isn't up for the award only Ling and Sanchez..give it to Ling as whilst I don't wish any ill on him as a person, Torquay are on a roll and need to put the brakes on.

Crawley game is on so hoping for a draw there..not too bothered if Crawley win as they still have us at the CG next Tuesday, have a big Cup match and Shrewsbury away later this month. They have plenty of time to trip up whereas Cheltenham have an easier run of fixtures on paper.

actually spelt 'accolades' so we were both wrong. Who cares as long as we win tonight.

Really they should both win the awards as both have been fantastic. IF Di Canio doesn't get given this then I will be shocked.

Caddis has a bit more of a challenge to win it but im sure he is the favourite for it.

It'll be Di Canio's first trophy as a manger. He deserves it.

What is a "purple aubergine"?
Every aubergine I've ever seen has been, well, aubergine.

In the mid-70's my pride and joy was a Cortina 1600E. As far as I know, it was THE only car Ford ever produced for which the colour was AUBERGINE.

Yep,

Those fixtures "on paper" are always the easy ones.

The less easy ones are the ones you actually have to play.

Does this verge on racism by the FA?

Just a thought?

The same day Paulo got done last time, the MK Dons manager got a slap on the wrist and a fine. Paulo's last sending off was nothing compared to the actions of the MK DOns manager, and he gets a 2 game ban! Jokers

I totally disagree with how the FA have handled the Terry/Capello situation

I think it's time the FA had a proper clearout. The organisation is making a joke of English Football
