SWINDON Town's League Two fixture at Barnet tomorrow has been called off following a pitch inspection at Underhill this morning.
Temperatures in the area are currently at zero degrees, with forecasts predicting they will drop as low as minus six later today.
The covers were on overnight at Underhill but when they were removed this morning the pitch was frozen and the decision was made to postpone the fixture.
“It is a shame because at this moment we have high confidence and we would have played against a side we have beaten already this season," said Town boss Paolo Di Canio.
“They probably would have had some players out as well but if we cannot play then we cannot change this.
“I will take the positives from this situation and we will prepare properly for Tuesday, which is a big, big match for us.”
Meanwhile, Swindon's League Two home fixture against Burton Albion has been rearranged for Tuesday, February 28. Kick off at 7.45pm.

I'm a little surprised it's off, London might be worse than here, in the old town snow is melting and temperature is above zero, I wonder if Barnet really wanted this game on with having a few players not available. maybe too early to say, but I would think if we are still using the air dome we have a good chance of the tuesday game being on. Saw Simon Ferry waiting for a lift this morning with his training bag outside old town court, (high st to drove rd), so i guess he is got over his sickness and is ready to go again.

I See Martin Ling wins manager of the month, it's turning into a real nightmare for poor Palo, we beat Wigan too...

So Barnet's tactic of bringing in snow-making machines looks like it's paid off!

Don't see this fixture backlog as an issue . We have played the same as everyone else and only have one extra game than everyone other than Crawley who are still in the cup . If our games are off - like last week pretty much all will be off - meaning everyone is in the same boat . Actually everyone else is worse off as they don't have the options and quality we have! . Our players have been rotated up to now so are not as tired as others and will continue to be so! . Come Crawley we can choose from Rhompson, Boateng, Cibbocchi, Risser, Cox, Rooney, Bodin, Murray, Magera, Gabi and Easyjet who all did not start the last game! . Plus with Kerrouche going we may even have another 1 or 2 come in . Plus we are ultra fit - so can cope with matches as Southend showed where they had 9 days to prepare and we didn't!
