WILTSHIRE youngsters, competing in their first season in the British Darts Organisation Youths inter-county league, produced their best performance and result so far.

Drawn away in Herefordshire they thumped the hosts 12-5 and took the honours in all three sections, under 18, and under 21 girls and boys.

It was an excellent display and completed a well-deserved double.

The victory took Wilts Youths' record in the BDO Southern Section Division One to three wins out of six - a fine return in their debut season.

The closest game came in the under 18 section where Wiltshire fought back from 1-0 down with wins from Richard North, Aaron Dunne (man of the match) and Luke Little to move 3-1 up.

Honours were shared in the next two, Rhys Dudley's win putting the visitors 4-2 up and on the brink of victory.

However, they lost the next two to take the game to a decider.

The reliable Matty Aubrey stepped up on the oche and made no mistakes, taking two straight legs for a 2-0 win and giving Wiltshire their first sectional success of the day.

The under 21 girls kept the momentum going with Stephanie Richell and the Knight sisters Letitia and Nicole all winning for a 3-0 clean sweep.

Jonathan Gobey, on his Wilts debut, lost the opening under 21 males match by 3-1 but that was the hosts' only joy.

Excellent showings from Paul Thomson, Tony Clark and Adam Payne with straight wins sealed a Wilts win before Dan Butler took the man of the match award in a 3-1 legs win over Robert Jade.

This took the final under 21 male score to 4-1 and gave Wiltshire a massive 12-5 overall success.

Wiltshire Youths' next match will be a tough one as it is home to Southern section Division One leaders Glamorgan at the Moonrakers on Sunday, April 29.

WILTSHIRE senior side continue their battle to avoid relegation from the BDO Division 3 inter-county championship this weekend.

They face mid-table side Humberside at their new venue this season, the Moonrakers.

The B side play today and the A side tomorrow, both starting at noon.
