LEIGH Adams believes the fortress Abbey' factor could be more decisive than ever, with an Elite League revamp making points on the road even harder to come by.
The close-season decision to end the awarding of bonus points has made home form even more crucial, with all sides struggling to make hay on their travels.
Robins have actually done better than most away from home this campaign, winning twice already, but ahead of this evening's home clash with Coventry, Adams knows their form at Blunsdon cannot waver.
Going into tonight's clash on the back of two away defeats, Adams is confident it will be business as usual, insisting a perfect home record will not leave them far away.
He said: "Home meetings we can't afford to lose more than ever. We have put in the hard work at home and not many teams will go away from home and win this season.
"We can't afford to blow our hard work with a loss at home.

"Now there is no bonus point I guess it is even harder to get anything away, making the home meetings even more crucial.
"It was disappointing to lose so narrowly at Eastbourne on Saturday after doing so well but with the system as it is now, with no bonus points, we might as well have lost by 20 on Saturday."
While their defeat at Arlington may have been gut-wrenching, Monday's loss at Poole was more straight forward.
Robins skipper Adams though insists the wheels have not come off their bid for the top two and is confident they will be well and truly back on track after tonight's meeting with the Bees.
He said: "Poole were good, they were the better team on the night but we also had some real bad luck.
"Troy went down, I touched the tapes, well so-called touched the tapes, but you have those nights.
"It is how we react.
"That was the referee's decision and the tapes did move but the wind must have got them. That has gone now though.
"We were not making starts so we did not deserve to win. We are back at home on Thursday. It has been a tough one, we have had a lot of meetings and I certainly need a rest - so the next couple of days off will be nice.
"It is no big deal. We are still top of the table and looking pretty strong at home so that is the main thing. As long as we don't go down at home."
Champions Coventry arrive off the back of their first away win of the campaign, a 45-44 success at Wolverhampton on Monday.
Rider replacement operates for ex-Robins star Olly Allen, with 2007 British Grand Prix winner Chris Harris captaining the Bees.
