SWINDON angler Kevin Bamford has certainly had a weekend's fishing to remember.

In the scorching heat on Saturday he descended on Marlborough's Heron lake to win the club match with 43lb 6oz from peg 11 with a bag of goldfish, crucians, rudd and perch.

Then on Sunday it was of to Bourton-on-the-Water with the visiting club, Atomic. Drawing peg 23, Kevin amassed 244lb of carp some 72lb more than runners-up spot, and to top it off it was the golden peg as well.

Meanwhile down the road at Rolf's lake, Oxford saw the start of the six round summer teams of three series.

Goochy's team Draw Bags' came out on top with Mick O'Brian winning his section and second overall with 186-0-0 of carp caught on the pole using pellets. Goochy had a second in section with 112-0-0 and Mark Baston's contribution gave them a 17-point start.
