THE recent Swindon Advertiser “Let’s Get The County Ground Rocking” campaign certainly seemed to have an impact, as the atmosphere and attendance at the MK Dons game was really good.

We had more than 10,000 vocal fans packed into the ground for a match that was also being shown on Sky, which was an excellent response.

Unfortunately things didn’t work out on the pitch, but certainly our focus remains on growing attendances over the next couple of years, as the County Ground is so much better on a matchday when the crowd is full and enthusiastic.

Moving on, we have a number of events to promote, all of which have a TrustSTFC angle: First up, we have a stall at the Wiltshire Programme & Memorabilia Fair, which is being held this Sunday in the Legends Lounge at Swindon Town, between 10.30am and 1.30pm. Adult admission is just £1, with under-18s free.

It’s the first Programme and Memorabilia Fair to be held in Wiltshire for several years and there will be lots of programmes and memorabilia on offer, with dealers from all over the UK in attendance.

Next up in the diary is the TrustSTFC Quiz Night on Friday, May 1 at 7.30pm, again in the Legends Lounge at Swindon Town. Please contact Jon Watton on 07782 251712 or jon@yampromotions.com, if you are interested in attending. All profits from this event will go to TrustSTFC and will support our stadium developments campaign.

Looking slightly further ahead, Highworth Town Juniors are also holding an event in the Legends Lounge at Swindon Town. “The Legends Return” is being held on Friday, June 19, and will feature Fraser Digby and Micky Hazard, along with funnyman Matt Green and guest speaker Shaun Hodgetts.

Tickets cost £20 each, with tables of eight for just £150. They are available online from the Highworth Town Juniors website or every Saturday morning from their Juniors Club shop, with £1 from each ticket sale going to TrustSTFC.

Finally, this weekend we welcome club legend Jan-Aage Fjortoft back to Swindon Town and we know he will get a great reception. Make sure you come along and “Let’s Get The County Ground Rocking” once again.

Your Club, Your Trust.
