ADVER Sport's Tom Bassam hands out his ratings from Town's 3-0 defeat to Preston.

Tyrell Belford

Left in no-man's land for the first goal and played his teammates into trouble on a couple of occasions. 5

Sam Ricketts

Was Town's most steady man at the back though his failure to organise the defence led to the second. For third he won't want to rewatch how easily he was brushed off by Beckford. 5

Jack Stephens

Allowed Beckford to shoot far too easily in the build-up to the third and looked like a lost lamb at times. 5

Jordan Turnbull (booked)

Shaken up by the presence of Garner and looked ill it ease with balls going in behind him. 4

Jack Barthram (booked)

Was not trusted with the ball too often, but when he was delivered a couple of nice crosses that deserved better. A bright point in Town's day. 7

Anton Rodgers

Moves like he is stuck in mud, but played well under pressure. 6

Lee Marshall

Did not look out of place against tough opposition, kept his play very simple. 6

Will Randall

Kept very quiet by Preston's experienced defence, very quiet indeed. 5

George Barker

Showed flashes of his dribbling ability with a couple of mazy runs, but was withdrawn without making a serious impact. 6

Michael Smith

Charged with leading the line he was dominated by Preston's back three in the air and failed to link play. 5

Jermaine Hylton

Ran willingly throughout, even if he barely got a sniff of chance still looked a threat when going at defenders. 7*

Subs

Andy Williams (on for Barker, 55)

Hardly involved following his introduction, he was given no service mind. 6

Tom Smith (on for Rodgers, 70)

Stuck to his task in front of the back three and did not look overawed on his debut. 6

Josh Cooke (on for Smith, 84)

Little time to make an impact. 6
