PRESTON manager Simon Grayson is wary of Swindon Town’s attacking prowess ahead of their much-anticipated showdown in the League One play-off final.

The Robins have drawn plaudits for their free-flowing football from all quarters throughout the campaign and former Leeds boss Grayson is no exception.

Town may have been swept aside at Deepdale in the closing stages of the regular season as they slipped to a 3-0 defeat, but that is not a true reflection of their abilities.

It was a youthful Town side who took on North End that day and Grayson is all too aware that a full-strength Swindon side will have plenty of firepower at their disposal at Wembley.

The Preston chief has praised his opposite number, Mark Cooper, for not altering his offensive mantra when the going got tough for Town during stages of the season and acknowledges that Swindon will be a real handful for his troops at Wembley.

“You have seen all season what Swindon have been about. A lot of credit has to go to Mark and his staff; he has kept to his philosophies of how he wants to play the game,” said Grayson.

“They are a team that pass the ball around; they have some good players who can handle it and have players that can score goals.

“They take risks at times and we know what we need to do to try and hurt them. We have to be organised and disciplined, but we know we have threats going forward.

“They will know our weaknesses and strengths; so it will be about who handles the day, the occasion, who has a little bit of luck here and there and who takes their chances who will ultimately win the game.

“Having everyone available makes my decision even harder. We have some tough calls to make in terms of who is going to be playing and what shape we play.’’
