FORMER Town striker Andy Williams is expected to sign for his new club today.

The Advertiser understands that Williams, last season's top scorer, is set join another club in League One with the destination thought to be either Doncaster or Bradford City.

Williams, signed during the big spending era of Paolo Di Canio, was not retained by Town, with his wages not fitting in with the new playing budget implemented by chairman Lee Power.

Having enjoyed a stellar season with Town last time out there was a lot of interest in Williams, with Scunthorpe, Sheffield United, Millwall and MK Dons all keen.

It was reported yesterday that Williams had turned down Scunthorpe and it appears now the 28-year-old has decided on his next club.

According to reports in Reading, Town are back in the hunt for another striker. The club have apparently offered a trial to Highmoor Ibis hot-shot Sanchez Commock. The striker scored 18 goals last season in the Hellenic Premier Division.

Were he to sign, Commack would continue Town's recent tradition of plucking players from non-league, following Raphael Branco, Ben Gladwin and Jermaine Hylton all establishing themselves at the County Ground.
