SWINDON Town have completed the loan signing of Liverpool's Kevin Stewart.

The full-back, who can play on either side, becomes the Robins' third signing of the summer and has agreed a deal at the County Ground until the end of the season.

The 21-year-old joins up with Reds' teammate Jordan Williams, whose moved to Wiltshire was confirmed on Friday, and played in the 4-0 friendly defeat to Everton on Saturday.

Town boss Mark Cooper was pleased to add another player to his squad as he looks to rebuild the side broken up at the end of last season.

Both additions from Anfield offer plenty of versatility, something Cooper is grateful for.

"Kevin can play in various positions," he said. "He can play at the back, predominantly for me I see him as a midfield player, very aggressive and tidy on the ball.

"He’s one we’ve had our eye on for quite a while."

Stewart did not feature against the Toffees as he was nursing a slight injury picked up training with his parent club, but will train at Beversbrook this week and is likely to feature in Town's next friendly at Petersfield.

"He had a slight knock in training with Liverpool during the week so he’ll join in training this week," Cooper explained.

Stewart moved from Tottenham to Liverpool in 2014 having progressed through the ranks in the north London.

The young defender has not made an appearance for either Premier League club, but has had loan spells at Crewe Alexandra, Cheltenham Town and Burton Albion.

Last season Stewart was heavily involved with the Brewers' title run-in, scoring a dramatic winner to bring Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink's side the League Two crown.
