ADVER Sport's Tom Bassam hands out his ratings from Town's 2-2 draw against Port Vale.

Lawrence Vigouroux

Given little chance by Ikpeazu's strike for the first Vale goal or Foley's penalty. Dealt well with the visitor's attempts to put crosses into the box. 7

Nathan Thompson [C]

Having got into good areas up the pitch the skipper too often wasted the ball trying to beat a man. 6

Raphael Branco

Did not do enough to stop Ikpeazu in the build-up to the first goal, but otherwise was very solid at the back. 7

Jordan Turnbull (booked)

Threw himself into tackles and did some very good gritty defending, probably his best display since his return. 7

Brandon Ormonde-Ottewill

Some very slack moments of control, but his delivery from wide was better. 6

Anton Rodgers

Capable of playing some sublime passes when the brain engages, as demonstrated by his smart play for Robert's goal. Also liable to some lazy play at times, such as the gift to Vale for their goal. His goal was redeeming. 7

Yaser Kasim

Technically the most gifted player on the pitch, but his passing was a frustrating blend of over ambition and waste. 6

Jordan Williams

Another game passes him by in midfield, Town must be waiting for a mistake from their central defenders to move him into the back line. 5

Nathan Byrne

Flattered to deceive slightly with his darts infield. Most teams are aware of his ability and try to stop him using it, Port Vale succeeded for the most part. 6

Michael Smith

Looked at it in the first half, but drifted out of the game in the second. Did not get a sight of goal.  6

Fabien Robert

The game's outstanding player. Took his goal with aplomb and every he got the ball he threatened to hurt Vale. 8

Subs

Drissa Traore (on for Rodgers, 82, booked)

Not up to speed yet. 6

Kevin Stewart (on for Robert, 89)

No time to exert an influence. 6
