SWINDON Town are set to face their biggest test of the season without four first team players.
Due to either injury or international selection, Town are going into next Saturday’s League One examination against Sheffield United with their captain and vice-captain unavailable for selection.
Nathan Thompson’s groin injury at Southend looks likely to see him join Jonathan Obika and Jermaine Hylton on the injury list.
Yaser Kasim will be absent as he joins up with the Iraqi national team early ahead of the international window.
Cooper insisted he was not considering bringing in reinforcements as a result of Thompson’s injury and also confirmed the club had ended their interest in former New York Red Bull Richard Eckersley.
“I think it’s a groin strain,” said the Town boss on Thompson’s injury.
“He’s not going to be fit for the next couple of weeks I wouldn’t think.
“(Hylton and Obika) are going to be out a while.
“I wouldn’t have thought (we would be in the market for another defender). I think we’ll have to fill in with what we’ve got and shuffle it around.”
