TOWN loan aces Jordan Williams and Louis Thompson have been named in the Wales Under-21 squad for next month's UEFA Under-21 Championship qualifier in Denmark.

Liverpool youngster Williams can play either as a central midfielder or a centre-back and is currently on loan at the County Ground.

He was in Chris Coleman's senior squad for the Euro 2016 qualifiers against Cyprus and Israel earlier this month.

But the 19-year-old from Bangor drops back into the Under-21 squad with Geraint Williams' side having won their opening two Group 5 qualifiers against Bulgaria and Luxembourg.

"It's been a good start and we've scored six goals in our first two qualifying games so far," Williams told faw.org.uk ahead of the meeting with top seeds Denmark in Aalborg on October 9.

"They're top seeds for a reason and are very organised. They were knocked out at the semi-final stage against the eventual winners (Sweden) in the finals tournament.

"It's a great test for us and a great opportunity at the same time."
