ADVER Sport's low down on Town's next opponent: Blackpool.

The Chalkboard

BLACKPOOL have had no consistent set-up so far this season as boss Neil McDonald has tried out various combinations in an attempt to bring about a change in fortunes.

In Tuesday night’s win he found success with a straight 4-4-2 and looks set to continue with that formaion against Town.

Brad Potts is the key man in the middle of the midfield, he is the one charged with creative duties and will need to be kept a close eye on.

Swindon Advertiser:

Jack Redshaw (above) is the number 10 and operates in such a manner. Expect to see him dropping off partner Mark Cullen to link with Potts.

Blackpool do try and play, but with so many new faces are yet to find much cohesion. With the relatively small size of their forwards, the Tangerines’ approach is based on springing the front two in behind.

Likely Line-up

Swindon Advertiser:

A Man in Form: Brad Potts

Swindon Advertiser:

BRAD Potts (above right) had been a long-term target of Blackpool before they picked up him after the expiration of his contract at Carlisle this summer.

Given that he has managed to impress in a team struggling as much as the Tangerines, perhaps it should come as little surprise that they thought he might be able to help them in the Championship.

The 21-year-old is midfield ball player, not known for getting stuck into a midfield battle, however he does bring a bit of class to the centre of the park at Bloomfield Road.

He is also a goal threat. Last season the former England under 19 international got eight for Carlisle and he already has two this season, including the crucial second goal in Blackpool’s win over Chesterfield on Tuesday.

In a team made up of players who were in League Two last season Potts is a cut above.

Treatment Room

LLOYD Jones (above) is the only injury concern for Neil McDonald this weekend.

The on-loan defender returned to Liverpool following an ankle injury suffered in Tuesday night’s win against Chesterfield.

The 19-year-old was taken to hospital for a scan following the game after fears of serious damage in the dying stages of the game.

The Pool boss confirmed yesterday that the defender has returned to Anfield to be treated by their medical staff.

Jones had began to find form at Bloomfield Road having extended his loan deal until the end of the current season.

He had made nine appearances so far this season and turned to social media to share his frustration following the injury.

Saying: “Great 2-0 over Chesterfield, the team were excellent defending and attacking.

“On a personal note gutted, I’m off to get an x-ray now.”

Defender Tom Aldred missed Tuesday’s win with a head injury but should return against Town.
