SWINDON Town will hope to transfer their impressive FA Women’s Premier League form into the cup this weekend when they host Larkhall Athletic in the first round.

Steve Robertson’s side are sitting pretty at the top of the South West Division One table after winning their first seven games, although the eighth was a 1-1 draw against Chichester City last Sunday.

A stiff challenge now awaits in the FA Women’s Premier League Cup as Larkhall, who are a place behind Town in second, still have a 100 per cent league record.

In the previous round of the cup Town were awarded a walkover, while Larkhall thumped Exeter City 6-1.

Robertson said: “We had a very tough game last week at Chichester and I hope that we can bounce back to winning ways.

“Larkhall’s results so far this season show that they are a good outfit so we will have to raise our game to get a result.

“It’s a cup game and the tie has to be decided on the day, so neither side will be holding back, which should lead to an interesting tie.”

Sarah Uzzell is out of action after picking up an injury against Chichester last weekend, while Laura Morgan is still not fit.

Bottom-of-the-table Swindon Spitfires are without a game this weekend.
