SWINDON Town striker Jonathan Obika does not think Town’s new-look side are far away from clicking into place.

Mark Cooper has had a vastly overhauled squad to work with in 2015-16, with Momar Bangoura Town’s 17th signing, but have found life hard going post transfer deadline day.

An unconvincing victory at Crewe was followed by three defeats on the spin but Town were much-improved at Doncaster in midweek as they claimed a stoppage time draw.

The next target is getting back on the winning trail and Cooper’s men should fancy their chances of doing so at lowly Blackpool today. Although the Seasiders ended an eight-month wait for a home win when they beat Chesterfield on Tuesday they remain a club in crisis.

Obika says it was only natural that things would take time to gel with so many new faces but he thinks they have turned a corner.

“Any team can say that, when they bring in new players, they need time to gel. Hopefully now we’re getting to grips with each other,” said Obika, who is only just returning to full fitness following an ankle injury.

“Individually we’re fantastic. We have got in great players and now it’s for us to gel as a team and in time you will see.

“We have two (long journeys) on the bounce. First Doncaster and now Blackpool, it’s all part and parcel, you have to prepare well and do well in the game.

“You want the gaffer to have a whole squad to pick from and then there’s good competition in training. It always makes us better, you saw that last season.

“We hold each other accountable for our performances, from the back to the front. That’s what I feel is good about this team.”
