BEN Gladwin is hoping that by focusing on himself he can help turn around Swindon’s fortunes as he rejoins the club on a 28-day emergency loan.

Gladwin left the County Ground at the end of last season as part of a deal that took the former Marlow man and Massimo Luongo to Queen’s Park Rangers.

Now the 23-year-old returns for a short loan spell to get some games into his legs as well as helping out his former side as they go through a deep injury crisis.

Since heading to Loftus Road, Gladwin has appeared just three times for the Hoops, although he has been a regular feature of the matchday squads.

Gladwin has trained with Swindon once already ahead of his return and the deal seems ideally suited for both parties, with Town crying out for creativity of late and Gladwin needing to get some match practice.

“The idea is to come back and get some games,” Gladwin told the Advertiser. “I’m comfortable at Swindon, so it will be good to be back and see the boys and get playing.

“Fingers crossed I can come back and help out. The main thing for me is coming back and getting games.

“I’ve not particularly set any targets. I just want to get as many minutes as I can, get some fitness on board and hopefully do what I do – create things and score goals.

“From what I have heard the team has been playing quite well and been struggling to score and create goals in recent weeks, so that’s what I’m here to do.

“It’s always been an option for me. I think if I wasn’t getting the game time I could come back to Swindon and the chance came around so I wasn’t going to turn it down.

“I think my intensity has upped a little bit going up a level, so hopefully I’ll be doing things a little bit quicker. I’ll just look to do what I do - I’m not too worried about anything else.”
