SWINDON Town spent £60,251 in agents’ fees between October 31, 2014 and September 30, 2015, outweighing their outlay on transfers.
Young Northern Ireland striker Jordan Stewart was the only player Town paid a transfer fee for in that period, with the club spending a reported £50,000 to prise him away from Glentoran.
The rest of Town's transfer business in that time has been made up of loan deals and free transfers, although they were fined £1,000 for the acquisition of Jermaine Hylton from non-league Redditch United.
Town’s outlay is the 13th highest in League One, with Wigan the top spenders on £1.461million, which contributed close to half of the division's £3.168million total.
The figure is down on the club’s equivalent spend during the same period in 2013-14, when £89,741 was paid to agents.
