SWINDON Town manager Luke Williams says there are no guarantees any of the ‘laughing gas’ trio will be playing against Chesterfield this weekend.

Drissa Traore, Brandon Ormonde-Ottewill and Jeremy Balmy will all be available for selection after being issued with fines by the club for their off-the-field conduct.

The trio were suspended for a fortnight ago after uploading a video to social media, which allegedly showed them inhaling laughing gas.

The three players appeared yesterday afternoon before a disciplinary panel to conclude the internal investigation into the incident and Williams is now calling on them to show in training that they are ready to right their wrongs.

“They will be available because they will have served their suspension time and there will be disciplinary action taken but the boys will have to earn their right to be back in the matchday squad,” Williams told BBC Wiltshire.

“There is a level of conditioning they have lost because they have not been training for a fortnight.

“They will have to be re-conditioned and earn a right to be back in the squad and will have to show in training every day that they are desperately trying to make up for what they have done.

The club released a statement after the conclusion of the disciplinary panel meeting yesterday to bring a curtain down on the saga.

It said: “The three first-team players have been fined by the football club for their actions.

“The trio acknowledge that their actions were wrong and would like to apologise to their team mates, the club’s staff and the supporters.

“They are keen to move on from this issue and get back to training to help the team as quickly as possible. All three will be considered for selection once again this weekend.

“Swindon Town now consider this matter to be closed and will be making no further comment.”
