Adver Sport's Dan Barnes hands out his player ratings from Town's 1-0 win over Chesterfield this afternoon.

Jake Kean – 6

Barring a first-half save from Jay O’Shea, the Town goalie was very much a spectator throughout.

Bradley Barry – 6

Got up and down the pitch all afternoon but was unable to conjur up many deliveries to trouble the Spireites defence.

Raphael Branco – 7

Operated as part of a central defensive trio but regularly steamed forward to support attacks. Should have scored with just minutes on the clock.

Nathan Thompson (C) – 6

Never required to do much last-ditch defending but was neat and tidy in what he was forced into.

Jordan Turnbull – 7

Not always able to make the correct decision with the ball but did a great defensive job throughout.

James Brophy – 6

Popped up in great positions throughout but wasn’t really able to get the better of right-back Raglan. Goal-saving block in first-half stoppage time.

Yaser Kasim – 8

An effective creative presence – regularly dropped deep into space and sprayed searching balls about the pitch before curling home the winner.

Louis Thompson – 6

Had a shot blocked on the line early on but had a relatively quiet afternoon altogether.

Michael Doughty – 8

Another impressive display from the authoritative midfield man. A threat from range with his left foot, he also delivered plenty of teasing crosses and was desperately unlucky with a strike that hit the post.

Jonathan Obika – 6

Wily and powerful as usual but struggled to get into real goalscoring positions, with most of his work coming outside the box. Will be disappointed with his second-half miss.

Nicky Ajose – 5

Closely-marked all afternoon and barely given a sniff.
