SO IT’S all over. Done. See you later. Sayonara. The 2015/16 season - an undulating campaign that never really settled into a rhythm.

Nathan Byrne’s hat-trick against Bradford is as hazy a memory as to feel like a distant dream, and what followed veered from drastic to promising to mediocre; hardly surprising, perhaps, under the leadership of three separate managers. Four if you count the owner’s brief spell in caretaker charge.

From Trust STFC’s point of view, the campaign has been one of steady progress. We enjoyed tremendous success with our 5k To Coventry campaign, which concluded with one of the largest away followings of recent years travelling up the M5 to watch the 0-0 draw at the Ricoh Arena in March.

The Red Army Fund has continued to grow, thanks to the ongoing support of those who have chosen to donate between £1 and £25 a month - and we’re hopeful more and more fans will pledge what they can as we develop our blueprints for community engagement and stadium redevelopment further.

The Trust has expanded on an administrative level, too, with the addition of three new board members recently - Rob Angus, Greg Callard and Rishi Ladwa - all three of whom add vital and substantial business experience.

All three will work alongside vice-chairman James Phipps to further engage local businesses and bring together like-minded Swindon fans for the future good of the club.

The Trust now has a wide network of volunteers, working on projects ranging from schools and youth programmes to potential stadium redevelopment, the promotion of Swindon Town in minority communities locally and maintaining good relationships with the media.

We owe a special vote of thanks to the Swindon Advertiser, who have supported the Trust’s projects this season with verve and vigour - most notably the 5k To Coventry campaign, which would not have been such a success without their help.

Our sponsored player, Jordan Stewart, has committed to assisting spreading the good word of the club through the local community and in schools next season, following in the footsteps of Harry Toffolo, and we’re looking forward to seeing what he can do on the pitch next term.

While the players now head off on their holidays, the Trust’s work is not done and over the summer we will push ahead with several major initiatives, sharing updates on our progress with you every step of the way via email newsletters.

As for the football… now we just have to wait. Euro 2016 and the Olympic Games might be a stop-gap of sorts during the summer but, really, we’re all secretly counting down to August.

With Oxford and Bristol Rovers joining the division, there are local derbies to look forward to and, with Northampton, Charlton and MK Dons also set to feature, League One North is no more.

There can’t be anyone at the County Ground who considers 2014-15 to have been a success.

Forgive and forget.

Here’s to a proactive summer in the transfer window and a fresh start come August. Here’s to inspiring the area’s football fans of the future once more. Here’s to the health, happiness and stability of our club.

Here’s to Swindon Town.
