A DEAL to bring Peterborough United midfielder Harry Beautyman to Swindon Town looks to be off the table after Posh chairman Darragh MacAnthony took to social media to indicate any such move was dead.

Last month, Peterborough director of football Barry Fry revealed that Town were keen to sign Beautyman, who has been transfer-listed at London Road.

Then, at the weekend, Town manager Luke Williams admitted interest in the 24-year-old but dismissed reports of Town stepping up their interest as pure speculation, insisting nothing was close to being signed.

It now appears that the move is dead in the water after MacAnthony took to Twitter to reply to a question about the likelihood of a deal.

When asked if the deal was still on, MacAnthony replied “Nope.”

Meanwhile, long-term Town target Tom Bradshaw has submitted a written transfer request at Walsall.

The club have confirmed that the striker has asked to leave the Bescot, but it is highly unlikely Swindon, who tabled a bid thought to be in the region of £300,000 for the forward last August that was rejected, would be able to make a move, with Championship sides Rotherham and Barnsley interested in the former Wales U21 international.

It has also been announced that Town’s match with Peterborough United on Saturday, September 3, will be broadcast live on Sky Sports.

Kick-off at London Road has been brought forward from 3pm to 12.15pm as a result.
