DEFENDER Jamie Sendles-White has had his season brought to a premature end after revealing that he has ruptured his anterior crucial ligament.

The 22-year-old defender sustained the injury on Saturday when he collided with Bury’s Tom Pope in the 27th minute before being stretchered from the County Ground pitch.

The Northern Ireland U21 international, who has made seven appearances for Swindon Town this season, underwent a scan on his knee this afternoon to establish the extent of the injury and the player has made public that he will be out for the remainder of the season.

He posted on social media: “Bad news from the scan. I’ve ruptured my ACL and also damage other parts of my knee.

“There is no word possible to describe how I feel.

“The season is over for me and it’s going to be a long, long road to recovery for me now.

“I would just like to thank everyone for their kind messages of support, they mean a lot.

“I will come back better and stronger.”

That leaves Swindon with three fit centre-backs following the return to fitness of Raphael Branco, with Conor Thomas and Bradley Barry having already filled in temporarily in that position this season.
