AdverSport’s Dan Barnes hands out his player ratings from Swindon Town’s 2-1 defeat to Bristol Rovers at the County Ground this evening.
Lawrence Vigouroux
Commanded his area well, making the correct decision time and again when coming off his line. Didn’t deserve to be on the losing side – 8
Raphael Branco
A confident display was undone in a matter of moments as the defender gave away a penalty and then scored an own goal – 4
Nathan Thompson (C)
Was given plenty of work to do and read the game well for long spells until everything came crashing down – 6
Lloyd Jones
Got the hosts off to a great start with a goal, and managed to stand up to most Rovers attacks, save for two vital ones – 7
Darnell Furlong
Back in his more usual position of right wing-back, showed plenty of drive going forward and did well in his own half too. Booked. – 6
Yaser Kasim
Perhaps not able to dictate proceedings as much as he would like but the midfielder did well with the ball in tight areas. Booked. – 6
Conor Thomas
Neat and tidy but nothing to shout about. Booked. – 5
Sean Murray
Picked his passes cleverly. An encouraging display as Murray enjoyed a second successive league start – 6
James Brophy
The final product may have not always been on the money but Brophy’s pace and directness caused the Rovers defence all manner of problems during his 45-minute display, which was curtailed by illness – 7
Jonathan Obika
Didn’t fashion many goalscoring opportunities but closed down in the final third well – 5
Nathan Delfouneso
Seems to be getting more and more up to speed with each passing game but like Obika, didn’t have much to feed on – 5
Substitutes
Brandon Ormonde-Ottewill (on for Brophy, ’45)
Got forward well when required. Solid if unspectacular – 5
John Goddard (on for Murray, ’49)
Produced some nice passes with the ball at his feet – 5
Luke Norris (on for Delfouneso, ’73)
Could have had a goal within moments of coming on, which proved to be a crucial moment – 5
