SWINDON Town have swooped for three Chelsea players on loan after signing Charlie Colkett, Islam Feruz and Fankaty Dabo from the Premier League giants.

The club announced the capture of the Blues trio this evening, with each of them committing to the club until the end of the season.

Colkett, 20, was part of the UEFA Youth League-winning Chelsea side that has won the European U19  competition two seasons on the trot and skippered them to their most recent success last season.

The central midfielder spent the first half of this season on loan at West Country rivals Bristol Rovers, making 17 appearances in all competitions.

The England U20 international, who progressed through the youth set-up at Charlton Athletic before making the switch to the Blues at U11 level, netted his first professional goal late during a 1-1 draw away to Bradford City last September.

He went on to score three times for Rovers before he was recalled by his parent club on January 5.

Town announced signing of fellow Chelsea youth product Islam Feruz to add to their striking options moments after confirming Colkett’s arrival.

The 21-year-old, who has represented Scotland up to U21 level, joined the Premier League outfit from Celtic in 2011 before turning professional three years later.

Feruz, who will become Town’s fifth recognised senior striker, has yet to make a professional appearance for the Blues, having had four loan stints previously, including one at Blackpool, where he made just two appearances, and is yet to notch a professional goal.

Completing Town’s trio of loan incomings from the Premier League leaders is defender Dabo.

The England U20 international, who primarily operates at right-back, has made over 100 appearances for the Blues’ youth teams and has been with the west Londoners since the age of 12.

Colkett and Dabo, 21, were both members of the Chelsea side that won the 2013-14 FA Youth Cup with a 7-6 aggregate victory over near neighbours Fulham, with the former notching from the penalty spot in the second leg.

Meanwhile, Feruz scored twice in the first leg of the 2011-12 final, a 4-0 win over Blackburn Rovers, with the Blues lifting the cup despite losing the second leg 1-0.

All three deals are subject to EFL approval and take the number of loan players at the club to five, including Tuesday’s signing Ben Gladwin and Liverpool’s Lloyd Jones.
