THE first round draw for next season's Carabao Cup will be made in Bangkok, Thailand on Friday, with Championship big-hitters Aston Villa, Norwich and Reading among Swindon Town's potential opponents.

Thai energy drinks brand Carabao signed an £18million, three-year deal with the EFL to become the competition's title sponsor earlier this year.

The first round draw will be seeded and regionalised to reduce travelling time for supporters, with Town among the 18 unseeded teams in the south section of the draw.

That could see them meet the likes of Villa, the Canaries and the Royals in round one, while they could also be drawn against local rivals Bristol City, Bristol Rovers and Oxford United.

Town went out on penalties to Championship side Queens Park Rangers, whom they could also face again, in the opening round last season.
