FORMER Swindon Town midfielder Yaser Kasim has signed for League One side Northampton Town following the expiration of his contract at the County Ground.
Iraq international Kasim was free to leave the club at the end of June after turning down the offer of a new deal at Swindon.
The 26-year-old had been linked with a move to Championship side Bristol City earlier this summer but has instead opted to join the Cobblers, putting pen to paper of a two-year contract at Sixfields.
Kasim signed for Town in August 2013 having come through the youth ranks at Brighton & Hove Albion.
He was a key member of the side that reached the League One play-off final in 2015 and made 139 appearances for the club in all competitions, scoring eight goals.
