PAUL Mullin hopes to get the Swindon Town fans on their feet as he prepares to make his mark at the County Ground.

Mullin has plenty of experience in Town’s new League Two surroundings having made a summer move from Morecambe, and can boast a decent goal record in the fourth tier, hitting the back of the net almost once in every two starts.

Although as a forward, Mullin will be judged on his goals return, the 22-year-old is eager to keep supporters entertained however possible.

“There is more to my game than just goals. I have scored a few goals but I also like to pick it up from my own box and run the length of the pitch,” said Mullin.

“I like to try and excite the fans by running at people and committing defenders.

“Goals are always going to be part of me, that’s what I want to bring, but most of all, I want to excite the fans.”

Luke Norris seems likely to lead the forward line for Town this season, with Mullin amongst a number of players who are capable of playing off him, and the Liverpudlian is optimistic about the attacking options David Flitcroft has to choose from.

“It’s brilliant been working with Luke. Whether the ball goes long to him or into his feet, I know he can get hold of it and I can prepare to make my runs off him,” said Mullin.

“I like to get in behind and he likes to get hold of the ball and it seems to be working well.”

Mullin has spent the last three seasons at Morecambe, who boasted a highest finish of 11th during his time their back in 2014-15.

However, he has been left in little doubt by Flitcroft that sights will be set a little higher at his new club.

“At Morecambe, the expectation is a lot different. Coming here, straight away the gaffer made it clear the aim of the club is to gain promotion and hopefully we can do it at the first time of asking,” said Mullin.

“Whether it’s automatically or through the play-offs, that is our aim.”
