DONAL McDermott will travel with the side for tomorrow's trip to Norwich City but won't feature as he continues to recover from his injury.

The 27-year-old was ruled out of the game at Carlisle United on Saturday with an ankle injury but manager David Flitcroft is pleased with the progress the forward is making.

McDermott will be with the team for their Carabao Cup tie this evening, using the pre-match schedule as a chance to test his fitness ahead of Saturday's first home game against Exeter City.

"Donal is coming on really well," said Flitcroft.

"I'm delighted with his progress. He won't be involved but he'll come with us so we can get a session with him in the gym and then a football-specific session on the pitch tomorrow night.

"With Donal, it's good news."

Meanwhile, the length of Luke Norris' lay off is still up in the air, having gone for a scan this evening.

Norris dislocated his shoulder in the process of scoring Town's opener at Brunton Park on Saturday but Flitcroft won't know how long he will be without his striker until the medical notes come back.

"Luke Norris, it's about settling it down now," he added.

"We couldn't get him in a scan on Sunday, we've got him one tonight and that will tell us what damage has been done.

"There is definitely some soreness in there but he is a tough boy and those sort of injuries are about pain threshold.

"As long as there is no great damage in there, it's about how we can get Luke out there.

"It's a difficult one to comment on without getting the expertise from the specialist."
