PREMIER League side Leicester City have swooped for Coventry City youngster George Thomas.

The 20-year-old, who scored nine goals during the Sky Blues’ relegation campaign last season, has signed a three-year deal with Leicester for an undisclosed fee.

GRIMSBY Town have been busy in the last couple of days after adding two players to Russell Slade’s side.

Former Port Vale striker JJ Hooper, who has been on trial with the club this summer, has penned a two-year deal with the Mariners after leaving Vale Park at the end of last season, the 23-year-old scoring 10 goals in 54 appearances for the club.

Grimsby have also secured the services of Norwich City winger Diallang Jaiyesimi on a season-long loan deal from the Championship club.

The 19-year-old joined Norwich from non-league side Dulwich Hamlet in January last year and went on to score eight goals in 33 appearances for the Canaries’ U23 side last season.

CHELTENHAM Town midfielder Harry Pell has turned down a move to Blackpool.

Pell, 25, discussed personal terms with the League One side, but told fourth-tier Cheltenham’s club website that he had decided to stay with the Robins.

COLCHESTER United have signed winger Kyel Reid on loan until January from League Two rivals Coventry City.

LUTON Town have signed forward Harry Cornick for an undisclosed fee from Premier League club Bournemouth.

The 22-year-old has penned a two-year deal with the League Two side, having only made one first-team appearance for the Cherries back in 2015 in an FA Cup tie, with the option of a further year.

LUTON defender Frankie Musonda has also signed a new contract at Kenilworth Road.

The 19-year-old central defender has extended his stay until the end of the 2018/19 campaign, with an option of a further year, having made eight appearances for the club to date.

STEVENAGE have signed Luton midfielder Jonathan Smith after the Hatters agreed to cancel his contract by mutual consent. Meanwhile Hatters midfielder Luke Gambin, 24, has been called up into Malta’s initial 30-man squad for their World Cup qualifiers with England and Scotland next month.

Gambin has made nine appearances for his country.

LEAGUE Two Wycombe Wanderers have banned a 14-year-old fan for two years after being caught trying to take two smoke grenades into their Adams Park stadium.

The incident happened prior to last Saturday’s game against Lincoln City, with Thames Valley Police stating their investigation is ongoing despite no arrest being made at the time.

A club statement read: “Fans are reminded that all pyrotechnic devices are strictly prohibited within the stadium and its surrounds.”

YEOVIL Town’s players and staff agreed to refund the 258 fans who travelled to their 8-2 opening day defeat at Luton Town.
