BARNET striker and summer arrival David Tarpey looks set to miss the rest of the season after he suffered damage to his anterior cruciate ligament in the Bees 3-1 victory over Cambridge United.

The 28-year-old signed on at Barnet after securing promotion to the National League with Maidenhead after scoring 46 goals across all competitions.

Like Barnet, Coventry City were handed an injury blow with midfielder Tony Andreu being ruled out for the season with a serious knee injury.

The 29-year-old summer signing, who arrived from Norwich City went down injured against Port Vale on Saturday and has been diagnosed with a tear to his anterior cruciate ligament, leaving him ruled out for a minimum of nine months.

YEOVIL Town will also be sweating over fitness ahead of the weekend as Olufela Olomola suffered a knock on Saturday.

Olomola, who is at the Glovers on loan from Premier League side Southampton, was forced off due to a leg injury in their win at Exeter City in the Checkatrade Trophy, and suffered another injury on Saturday.

“Like Ryan Hedges and Otis Khan last year, he’s going to be a target because of the quality he’s got,” said manager Darren Way.

“He’s been hit on two occasions now. The one at Exeter was close to being a broken leg, and then we had the one on Saturday.

“We’ve got to see the extent of the injury. We’re still waiting to have his medical assessment from a surgeon.”

CHELTENHAM Town defender Jamie Kilkenny has been told to find a new club after being released for ‘non-footballing reasons’.

The teenager, who had been making good progress in the club’s U18s and featured for the side in pre-season.

However, after 10 years at the club as a youth, the defender was told not to come back by Gary Johnson. Yet he hasn’t given up on being a professional footballer, he told the club website he planned ‘to prove ‘everyone at Cheltenham wrong’.
