Likely line-up
One to watch - Uche Ikpeazu
A brace of goals in Tuesday’s thumping 3-0 win at home to Forest Green Rovers took Cambridge United striker Uche Ipeazu’s tally to five for the season already.
Ikpeazu found himself on the bench for Cambridge’s season opener away at Exeter City on August 5 but marked his first start four days later with a goal against Bristol Rovers in the EFL Cup and has not lost his place in Shaun Derry’s preferred XI since.
The 22-year-old striker is in his second season with the u’s, having found a permanent home after being released by Premier League side Watford last summer following a succession of loan spells away from Vicarage Road.
Ikpeazu marked his debut campaign at Cambridge with eight goals in 36 games but already looks set to better that haul.
Key battle - Olly Lancashire v Jabo Ibehre
Cambridge United can boast more than one dangerous striker in their ranks as Jabo Ibehre is in good form at the moment too.
The 34-year-old arrived at the abbey stadium on a free transfer this summer and has already helped himself to four goals.
At six-foot-four and 14-and-a-half stone, Ibehre will provide more of a physical threat than partner Uche Ikpeazu and with a few wobbles in the town defence of late, skipper Olly Lancashire will want to be on red alert.
