Lawrence Vigouroux: Not overly employed and really only one heart-stopping moment when Ikpeazu’s header came back off the bar. 7.5

Ben Purkiss: A wayward shot on a rare foray forward will probably be a moment he wants to forget but was largely clean and tidy in his defensive duties. 7

Matt Preston: Assured on his club debut against what was a physically imposing United front line. 8.5

Olly Lancashire: Made a fine goal-line block as United threatened late on and dealt with the opposition threat. 7.5

Matt Taylor: Cambridge enjoyed some success down his flank in the opening stages but the veteran was rarely exposed. 7

James Dunne: The radar was a little off with the passing at times but performed reasonably well in a match he might not have expected to feature in. 7

Amine Linganzi: One lovely slide-rule pass sent Woolery in down the left in the opening period and his appearances on the ball prompted cries of ‘shoot’ from the home crowd. 7.5

Kellan Gordon: His persistence created the conditions for the first goal, but should have settled matters with a gilt-edged second-half chance. 7.5

Kaiyne Woolery: Gave the ball away sloppily on occasions but a willing outlet and his cross provided the opening for the first goal. 7.5

Keshi Anderson: Took his goal well and will probably reflect that he should have doubled or even tripled his tally on the day. 8

Luke Norris: Struggled to get going although in fairness presented with few chances before his departure through injury just after the hour. 6.5

SUBSTITUTES

Harry Smith (for Norris, 62): Had one real chance and finished it with aplomb after replacing the stricken Norris. 7.5

John Goddard (for Woolery, 69): A sight on goal after his introduction and always looks as though he can add some much-needed craft to the Town midfield. 7.5

Paul Mullin (for Gordon, 81): Without any stand-out moments, he played his part as Town saw out the game. 7

Subs not used: Donal McDermott, Ellis Iandolo, Reice Charles-Cook, Kyle Knoyle
