THE GAME was very slow until the fifth minute when a Colchester defender tried to clear his lines but his clearance hit Kaiyne Woolery but as Woolery chased the ball the defender made a foul.

Thirty minutes went by and Town finally broke the deadlock when Matty Taylor whipped in a delicious free kick which eventually found Woolery who smashed home.

Just before half time Frank Kent scored for Colchester via the post after a corner was swung in to make it level at half time.

Half-time: Swindon 1-1 Colchester

Town had the first major chance of the second half 10 minutes in, when Taylor found space 25 yards out so he drilled a shot which went just wide of the post.

In the 64th minute Colchester took the lead when Mikeal Mandron headed in a free kick from the left.

With Town trailing for the first time they decided to up their game and got their reward when the U’s failed to clear their lines and Gordon fired a shot, with his first touch, into the back of the net with 15 minutes to go.

Town weren’t level for long though as Sammie Szmodics beat his man and found the far corner giving Vigouroux no chance. Town didn’t put up a fight to at least gain a point and continued there woeful performances at The Energy Check County Ground this season.

My man of the match was Kellan Gordon as he made a big difference when he came on by creating more opportunities for the Robins.

I was lucky enough to be in The Imagine Cruising Suite. I had a great time and met Swindon towns man of the match Ellis Iandolo who said he was disappointed with the performance but that the team need to stick together.
