Adver Sport assess the performances of the Swindon Town players in today’s 2-1 defeat away at Chesterfield in League Two.

REICE CHARLES-COOK – 5.5

Will probably feel he should have done better for Chesterfield’s first goal and kicking was below par too.

BEN PURKISS – 7

Becoming a reliable figure in the back three and helped restrict Chesterfield to very few clear chances.

OLLY LANCASHIRE – 6

Looked solid but Town didn’t really have too much defending to do before he fell victim to injury inside half an hour.

ROLLIN MENAYESE – 6

His rawness at this level is still visible and the second goal came via space down his side but got in a few decent challenges too.

KYLE KNOYLE – 6

Not as prominent as he has been of late and couldn’t really use his pace to trouble the Spireites up the right.

KELLAN GORDON – 6

Back in the team after suspension and in a new central role too but came in for some rough treatment from the hosts before being subbed.

OLLIE BANKS – 4.5

A little careless in possession and let his frustration at his performance get the better of him with a needless challenge for a red card.

KESHI ANDERSON – 5.5

Did not feature as a prominent force in the game and failed to provide much of an attacking spark. Subbed after the break.

MATT TAYLOR – 6.5

His crosses were not as potent as we have become used to but still set up Town’s goal. Not as much space to work with as in recent games.

PAUL MULLIN – 7

Energetic up top and worked hard to go looking for the ball. Seemed a nuisance to the Chesterfield defence without having much of a sight of goal.

MARC RICHARDS – 6

Snatched at the couple of good chances that came his way and was largely well marshalled by the home defence.

Substitutes:

CHRIS ROBERTSON – 7

(For Lancashire, 28) Solid enough at the back and got a goal to his name too.

LUKE NORRIS – 6.5

(For Anderson, 59) Added presence up top for Town. Booked.

KAIYNE WOOLERY – 6.5

(For Gordon, 59) Extra pace began to worry the home side.

Subs not used: Stuart Moore, James Dunne, Ellis Iandolo.
