Deal us in part one – Timlin
MICHAEL Timlin already has his eyes on climbing back up the Football League ladder after committing himself to the Town revolution for the next two years.
The midfielder has turned his back on the riches of the Premiership, having previously spent all his early days at Fulham, in favour of first-team football at the County Ground and the chance to kick start his stuttering career.
Saturday's 2-1 win over Millwall saw his second loan spell in Wiltshire at an end but, with the chance to make his Town union more permanent, Timlin jumped at the chance to be a part of something at Swindon,
Timlin is now relishing the opportunity to put the last couple of years of reserve team football and a string of loan spells behind him - revealing his confidence that better times are ahead.
He said: "It has all been sorted out and I have signed for two years. The gaffer wanted me to get it sorted before we all broke up so we all knew the situation before the summer break.
"It is good for me because I can concentrate on my summer and make sure I am ready to go for the big kick off.
"Next year the main aim is for promotion. We have to wait and see what the squad will be. Anyone who comes in will be a good addition because there is a real squad here already.
"Things are going to be very good next season I really believe that and we have to be pushing for promotion, anything else will probably be a disappointment.
"For me it is just going to be good to be playing football again. What has happened at Fulham is in the past and I would rather forget it."
Saturday's season bow was one to forget with a drab Town 2-1 win leaving many relieved the summer break was on the horizon.
Timlin quickly pointed to the win though as a sign of a change of mentality in a side that has lacked mental toughness for much of the season.
He said: "We knew it was going to be one of those games because there was nothing to play for. The manager wanted us to come out and get the result though.
"I think we have to learn that for next season that no matter how we play we have to get the result and that is something we had not been doing before.
"It was not the best of games but that shows we are starting to get the mentality that if we are not going to play well we can still get the result we need."

Next year the main aim is for promotion. We have to wait and see what the squad will be.
Main priority I feel wiould be to make sure that Peter Brezovan remains part of that squad
and doesn't get "rested" for no reason again at
crucial stages of the season.There is no doubt in my mind that a sound goalkeeper can add a good 10 points plus onto your tally at the end of the season.Just look at how Roy Keane's gamble to invest heavily in that department has paid off in keeping Sunderland up in the Premiership.

He has a better picture than the fans of how things are behind the scenes and he is obviously encouraged, hense the willingness to sign a two year contract. He believes the club are moving forward and I believe it too. We're no longer strictly a selling club, although every club is to an extent if the price is right, so its going to be interesting to see who else is coming to join the red revolution in the coming weeks.
