  The club could and should have had this sewn up a lot earlier, rather than wait for the contract to expire. Having said we want him to stay then loaning him out during periods when many of us would have preferred the chance of seeing him contribute here is hardly an endorsement . It boils down to the fact that Billy wants a regular berth. He has at least managed the bench with Torquay and Crewe which is more than he has managed here on many an occasion. I think he will go where he feels he can get games as there is no substitute for playing games to gain experience, and whether that is as a winger or forward is irrelevant, its experience and exposure, which is more than he gets here. Both Torquay and Crewe have excellent records with nurturing young players. I wish Billy the very best for his future, but would prefer it to be in a Town shirt. By the way, I do realise that he was sent out on loan to gain experience, but he landed up playing against the same teams as us, so no real benefit at all, as he could have done all of that with us, and surrounded by team mates who could have contributed to his development more so."
