YEOVIL boss Gary Johnson says he has quickly filled the void left by striker Andy Williams following his summer switch to Swindon.

The versatile front man scored 17 goals in an injury-hit second season at Huish Park, before making the switch to the County Ground at the end of his contract.

Williams has struck three times in 19 appearances for Paolo Di Canio’s side, but has failed to net in the last seven outings leading up to Saturday’s clash with his former employers.

Despite the 26-year-old’s exit, the Glovers have not struggled in front of goal with James Hayter and Carlisle United loanee Paddy Madden scoring 11 between them and finding support from Sam Foley and Reading loanee Gozie Ugwu who have each scored three.

Johnson said: “Whoever they play up front, we will be aware of them and it will be down to whichever team is at their best on the day.

“Scoring goals hasn’t been our problem, certainly away from home, and we have got two lads that have been scoring.

“We were sorry to lose Andy. At the time we felt we had done a lot for him to improve his game and he also did a lot for himself.

“But there is no point crying over spilt milk, we did lose him and we had to quickly find striker that would score goals to take his place and we did that.”

Ugwu will miss Saturday’s clash as he continues to overcome a hamstring injury sustained against Portsmouth at the start of last month, while midfielder Ed Upson is suspened following his red card at Preston.

Nathan Ralph (knee) and Lewis Young (ankle) are both absent with long-term injuries.
