SWINDON TOWN: Bostock back at Spurs

John Bostock is back at Spurs John Bostock is back at Spurs

JOHN Bostock has returned to Tottenham at the end of his loan spell with Swindon Town.

The midfielder, who made nine appearances for the Robins after arriving from White Hart Lane at the end of August, saw his temporary deal at the County Ground expire on Monday.

Bostock's return to his parent club does not rule out the possibility that Paolo Di Canio could bring the 20-year-old back to Wiltshire later in the January transfer window.

If nobody else has seen him play much then we must still be favourites to pick him up cheaply assuming Villas Boas doesn't go out of his way to check him out.

I really get the feeling that PDC is looking at him for an end of season freebie signing if we go up to the Championship...I'd be sirprised if Tottenham offer him another contract and as he hasn't played much it would be quite a risk to sign him for others.

Negotiate a lower contribution on wages but tie it in with a purchase price in the summer?...or risk losing him elsewhere and not being able to afford an extension may be the main options here.

Given that we had to pay the Collins and Troy monies immediately due to the board could we not buy him now and defer any payments until after the season's close?...Offer him a lower wage but a big bonus and wage rise if we get promoted :-)

Hope we get him back soon. Maybe Jeremy Wray will launch a bid for the club with a few of his other business friends so that the existing board members like Black/SWP who want to move on out (or in SWP's case, need to move on out), can do so gracefully. When all is said and done Black, Fitton etc have been fantastic for our club and certainly saved us from disintegration. With JW back at the helm we would have someone fully committed to the cause and taking us forward. Come back Jeremy, none of us wanted you to go in the first place! We don't want to lose momentum now.

Maybe Paolo feels that for now the midfield and strikers are performing so well that he can afford to defer the Bostock signing and concentrate on getting a defender in to cover for Archie. Just a thought !

Dont feel we need defensive cover, we have 4 centre backs in Flint, Macca, Ward and Devera so even with one injury one of them can easily fit in especially with Mceveley nearing a return to fittness

Bostock or Hollands? We need one of them back before the Bournemouth game.... preferably Hollands.

We need Hollands back for the Bournmuff game, that's fo sho.

Can't help in the team preparation. Is Hollands sticking around awaiting news, and training with the squad? Or has he actually gone back as nothing has been arranged yet?

Very big shame we have had to let him go back, an exiting player at times and solid when required, but sadly an expensive luxury right now. Hope to see him back here soon perhaps when money is a bit easier. Definitely for us, one for the future.

JB is a class act IMO, he has been underused here, the problem we now have is why will spurs send him back here on loan for the last 6 months of his contract paying most of his wages and then him not playing.... They might as well have him training with them or on loan at another club where he will play.
