UNBEATEN Orford’s climb up the Warrington and District Premier Division table continued with a 5-1 defeat of Cronton Villa.
Having won seven of nine games and with two in hand Orford will be hopeful they can make up the three-point difference between themselves and league leaders Runcorn Albion.
Goals from Liam Mcloughlin, two, Lee Vaughn, Anthony Brown and a peach from in-form midfielder Stuart Smith provided Orford with more than enough to send Cronton packing, though Saturday’s third-placed hosts Rainhill Town, kick off 2.30pm, may well provide a sterner test to their title ambitions.
