I wonder how long these interim appointments are for? Until the end of the season - or on a week-by-week basis? If it's until the end of the season, that effectively rules out any return for Paolo and his backroom team. But I can't see any way that can happen anyway given what's happened.

I find it unbelievable today what I am reading about so called fans knocking Paolo on here. He has done unbelievable things for our club in his time with us and I for one am gutted he has gone and I wish he was still with us.
So what he spent a bit of money he was given it and so what he made mistakes with some players all managers do the same but he is more honest than most and you need to be careful what you wish for as we don't know who we could get yet and I haven't been impressed with some of the names mentioned yet.
I would however like to see Adkins perhaps help us to the end of the season and we then take the summer to appoint someone then unless if Adkins did come in he fancied it himself but I don't think that will happen.

You can get 33/1 Colin Calderwood with BetVictor and a £25 free bet.

A much better bet than PDC coming back, a best priced 7/2 with Skybet.

The prices should perhaps be the other way around!!

I have to say PDC inspired me back into the games at STFC with his twist and turn management but as the plot unfolds it is clear to see the cost of this type of "exciting football" could of been the existence of STFC itself. My faith in him went when Matt Ritchie was "APPARENTLY" sold behind his back but he did not make a fuss until his three signings were turned down claiming that he would have kept quiet on account of getting new players. Then making demands beyond the control of STFC was this a demand for the board or a demand upon the football league.
Anyway brilliant while it lasted but greatful the whole ship didnt sink with this type of management.

Mallorca,

I don't normally post on here, but please, will you give it a rest about PDC. I have to honest, your constant sniping and whinging about how much money PDC "wasted" really is getting on my nerves.

We sit here, at the top of the table with 14 games to go, after winning League 2 only last season, with probably one of the finest squads we have had for many a year and a real shot at promotion this year .... Money wasted I think it not, it is horses for courses.

If you feel that we have wasted money, then remember everything had to be sanctioned by the Chairman JW. PDC asked for what any manager who do, funds to build a team. If the chairman wasn't strong enough or indeed didn't want to say no, it is hardly PDCs fault. So, if you want to have a pop, have a pop at him.

I find your attitude somewhat confusing, a few months ago, you were praising him, then as soon as the take over surfaced, and it was revealed that PDC could go, all of a sudden it is all his fault.

Do I condone his behavior, no. But I tell you what, I wish we had his fire and the spirit that he has brought to the club years ago. We are were we are BECAUSE of him.

I will be eternally grateful to AB and his consortium for saving the club, but to say that as the majority shareholder he didn't really know what was going on, is inexcusable, it's called leadership, something that PDC has in abundance.

The one thing that we agree on, is that no one is bigger than the club, but right now, some fans are hurting. Let's leave the sniping until the end of the season for the post mortem, pull together and get behind Ward, Miller and the team and get this promotion smashed.

I agree on supporting the lads obviously and we all will. But to say Black's comments may damage Paolo's future is beyond absurd. Paolo's 'high maintenance' is Paolo's creation, no-one else's. Paolo was entertaining in more ways than one like some wives I know, but sometimes you need one that is more stable and efficient . One that is good at housekeeping and working with the family budget.
Paolo was the most efficient and his preparation was second to none, however when I come home after a hard day I want my dinner on the table and I don't want to find there is an embargo on sausages.

Louis. I could not agree with your post more. Paolo had a bit of a Ron Hubbard/Tom Cruise/Scientology brainwashing effect on a lot of fans at our beloved club. Not saying anything wrong with that as I am a heart on sleeve type and if I liked Paolo in the first place i may have been sucked in too. I still go on about Hoddle and kneel and bow when I see him on Sky so it's easily done. I really wanted to love Paolo, but I always felt that he looked down his nose at us for being a small club, when he played at the top level and I would and I'm being honest, rather die than let anyone belittle me and take my dignity like that. So Paolo, as far as I'm concerned can sling his infantile, patronizing hook.

PdC did some great things for our club: put back some pride, brought in some great players, got people talking about us, took us to the title and to Wembley. He also did some terrible things: erratic behaviour and dubious motivational technique (including humiliating players in public), brought in some disastrous players, overspent, and attracted bad publicity. Yes, I loved the journey, but I am appalled at his behaviour in the past week (as much as I was deeply saddened by the way in which Ritchie was sold, irrespective of the financial need). Goodbye and thank you. Now we look forward, unite behind the new management, and press on for promotion. End of rant
