- REPORTING BY SAM MORSHEAD & ANDY WARREN
- FT: Swindon Town 0 Bury 1
- Schumacher pokes Bury in front, with a goal which ultimately proves to be the winner.
- Joint caretaker player-manager Tommy Miller admits the Robins need a new voice in the dressing room.
10:40pm
That's it from us for tonight, ladies and gents. One to forget for everyone involved with the club.
We're back for the trip to Coventry on Saturday, see you then.
10:37pm
10:37pm
Rooney praised the work of Tommy Miller and Darren Ward in the last week, and backed the duo to carry on.
LUKE ROONEY
“What they have done is admirable, and they have shown courage and been brave to step out the dressing room, and a lot of pros wouldn’t have done it," he said.
“It probably doesn’t look good on them, but hopefully they get given another chance on Saturday at Coventry.
“The boys will feel they let them down a bit tonight, but it is out of our hands.
“If someone comes in the boys will take to it, but if Darren and Tommy carry on then we will give them everything.
“We let ourselves down too, and it is about the team as a group. Tommy and Darren have come out of it but they are still players.”
10:35pm
Winger Luke Rooney returned this evening following a long exile from the Town squad, and while he was pleased by his own display he was disappointed with the result.
LUKE ROONEY
“Delighted to get on the pitch finally, but it means nothing because it wasn’t a good result," he said.
“It’s a long season, and we have another game on Saturday and the game is coming thick and fast now.
“It looked like I tried to shoot (when he robbed keeper Carson before hitting the side netting), but I lost my balance when I opened up my body and I lost my balance.
“I think I did okay when I came on, and I tried to keep the ball and I didn’t give it away too much.”
10:24pm
After that horrendous display I think it's bed time! #stfcrollercoastercontinues #swindoncrumble #stfcadver

Miller and Ward (especially) have been immense as players this season and to lump management duties on top of them is far too much to take on. The last two games has seen an unusally hesitant defence (Ward too much to think about). In addition, these two have got far too much on to consider training, injuries, loan players, opposition, their own games, making substitutions. They have huge credit for taking the job on, because PDC threw his toys out...but they need to be left to playing football. Get an interim manager in asap.
I don't blame the new board, I don't blame these two. Most teams are losing their way, including unbeaten Bournemouth. Plus, the squad is small and getting injured, need 3 quality loan players.
10:18pm
Joint caretaker player-manager Tommy Miller has spoken to the media, and when asked whether tonight's performance was the worst of the season he agreed.
Miller also suggested that now might be the time for a manager to come in from outside the club.
TIME FOR A CHANGE? Darren Ward and Tommy Miller
“I agree, it was rubbish all throughout and we didn’t get going, and I include myself in that," he said.
“There was a bit of complacency maybe with Bury struggling in the table, but we struggled and we weren’t at the races.
“We didn’t create many chances, if any, and when we went down there was no urgency and no fight.
“We have had fantastic opportunities to go top of the league, but we haven’t been able to take them.
“We say we want promotion but we have not been delivering.
“Something needs correcting, and whether that is me and Darren we will see.
“We have to look at everything, and how the lads have responded and something needs to be done.
“Darren and I need to have a chat, and ultoimately we are still players so we will see.
“There is no doubting the effort but the final ball wasn’t there and maybe it needs a different voice from the outside now.
“I think it needs someone different to tell them, but for me and Darren it's hard for us to work things out on the pitch.”
10:07pm
We are expecting Tommy Miller in the next few minutes.

Abject! The worst performance since Hart days. Just awful. I defy anyone to go any positives from that. The slide down the league starts. Bye promotion!

We are still waiting to hear from either of the managment duo or the rest of the players.

Luckily alot of others also slipped up. #stfcadver

Portsmouth 1-1 MK Dons
Scunthorpe 1-0 Stevenage
Sheff Utd 0-0 Leyton Orient

9:48pm
9:37pm
FULL-TIME: Swindon Town 0 Bury 1
9:36pm
90+4 minutes: A Town corner goes to waste as time ticks on further.
9:35pm
90 + 3 minutes: Luke Rooney robs Carson of the ball, but can only poke his shot into the side-netting.
9:33pm
YELLOW CARD: Nathan Thompson booked for a trip on the edge of the box, and Schumacher forces a great save from Foderingham from the free-kick.
9:32pm
88 minutes: The ball is lobbed into the box, but Flint’s flick-on is nowhere near a Town shirt. Time is fast running out but five minutes are added on.
9:31pm
Mark Carrington and Johnson Clarke-Harris both went into the book earlier, I should tell you.
9:28pm
ATTENDANCE: 7,508 (95 Bury fans)
9:26pm
81 minutes: Adam Rooney fires in an overhead kick which is gathered by Carson.
9:26pm
80 minutes: Town’s best chance of the night comes and goes as Darren Ward flicks on a free-kick and Aden Flint powers in a header which is well saved by Carson.
9:25pm
DOUBLE SUBSTITUTION: Tom Soares and Craig Fagan replaced by Johnson Clarke-Harris and Craig Jones.
9:23pm
79 minutes: Rooney (Luke) has Town’s first shot on target as he fires a free-kick straight at Carson.
9:23pm
YELLOW CARD: Carrington booked for tripping Collins from behind. (78)
9:21pm
9:20pm Tue 26 Feb 13
old town robin says
so is Nat playing full back or midfield
Thompson in at right-back with McCormack into midfield.
9:20pm
76 minutes: Rooney’s first act is to lift a cross into the box, but Williams fouls his man and gives away a free kick.
9:19pm
SUBSTITUTION: Luke Rooney makes his return to the Town first-time, replacing Gary Roberts.
9:18pm
73 minutes: Schumacher shoots over for Bury.
9:16pm
71 minutes: Roberts fires the free kick over.
9:16pm
YELLOW CARD: Tom Soares is booked for chopping down Nathan Thompson.
9:13pm
SUBSTITUTION: Raffa De Vita is replaced by Adam Rooney....eventually. The fourth official holds a blank board up at least four times before the change is made.
9:11pm
66 minutes: Collins latches onto a through-ball but volleys an effort off target.
9:08pm
63 minutes: Skarz is a lucky man after avoiding a yellow card for bringing down Roberts after the winger popped the ball past him. Should have been off.
9:06pm
YELLOW CARD: Joe Skarz booked for wasting time.
9:05pm
SUBSTITUTION: Alan Navarro replaced by Nathan Thompson. (61)
A big cheer comes up as Navarro’s number is held up. He was off the pace, but understandable given how long he was out.
9:03pm
Some huge groans coming up from the Town crowd as Alan Navarro and then Jay McEveley pass the ball straight out of play.
The fans want a change, and it looks as if they are going to get one as Nathan Thompson readies himself to come on for Alan Navarro.
9:00pm
55 minutes: Town work their way into the box before De Vita’s cross is cleared, and when it comes back in again Trevor Carson beats Williams to the ball.
8:57pm
There is still not much in the way of quality in the game, but Town are now having some longer spells of possesion.
8:56pm
Jamie Pitman has been a lot more visible on the touchline this evening, but doesn't seem particularly authoritative.
8:51pm
47 minutes: Town win an early corner at the start of the second half, but Flint heads wide, very wide. A little bit more urgency from Town though.
8:46pm
Back underway
8:46pm
Teams back for the second half for Town, no changes.
8:43pm
This reminds me of Ady Williams' games in charge when Wise left in 2006 - look clueless without proper guidance. Sigh. #stfcadver

8:32pm
A smattering of boos there as Town leave the field.
8:32pm
HALF-TIME: Swindon Town 0 Bury 1
8:32pm
45+1 minutes: McCormack cuts back, but his cross is too hard and goes out of play.
8:30pm
One minute added.
8:28pm
40 minutes: Miller sends in a corner from the left, and this time it is Flint who heads over.
8:25pm
38 minutes: Roberts flights a free-kick into the box, but Ward can only head over.
8:22pm
Town really struggling to get a grip of the midfield here, which Bury are looking to flood and then attack Swindon on the counter. THe Robins just don't seem able to get the ball down and play.
8:20pm
31 minutes: Williams latches onto a through-ball and appears to be impeded by Ashley Eastham, but he manages to get a shot off and the referee gives nothing. Looked like a clear free-kick outside the box, which would have also resulted in a red card.
8:18pm
28 minutes: Collins fires in Town’s first real effort of the half, but it is very wide.
8:17pm
27 minutes: Collins gets clear down the left, but after stumbling on the ball is cross is cleared.
8:12pm
23 minutes: Mark Carrington fires well over for the visitors.
8:09pm
That was Schumacher's 10th goal of the season.
8:09pm
21 minutes: GOAL 1-0 BURY (Schumacher) A great turn in midfield from Craig Fagan sets Bury away, and after the ball is worked out to Joe Skarz his cross is turned home by Schumacher who ghosted in at the near post.
8:06pm
18 minutes: David Worrall fires wide after McEveley does well to stop Ajose again.
8:03pm
15 minutes: A Gary Roberts cross is cleared behind, and from the corner Collins can’t quite get on the end of the cross as he slides in.
8:01pm
Referee Adcock is enjoying blowing his whitstle so far. A pretty stop-start affair.
7:57pm
A pretty ugly opening 10 minutes or so here at the County Ground.
7:57pm
Eight minutes: Nicky Ajose latches onto a great ball from the outside of Schumacher’s boot and beats Jay McEveley, but the Town defender gets back well to tackle inside the box. The resulting corner goes straight out of play.
7:52pm
Four minutes: The ball is lifted into the box in the direction of James Collins, but he can’t reach the ball as it bobble through to goalkeeper Trevor Carson.
7:48pm
One minute: Wes Foderingham has to scramble outside his box to clear, but finds row D of the Arkells stand well.
7:45pm
We are underway. Town kicking towards the Stratton Bank.

Town could go back to the top of League One this evening with three points, but for that to happen Sheffield United would need to slip up at home to Leyton Orient.
On the other hand, they could drop as low as sixth.

7:26pm
DANGER MEN

Steven Schumacher
The former Everton midfielder makes Bury tick, and can control a midfield if given the chance. He will be stationed behind the lone-forward Craig Fagan, and will be looking to thread balls through as well as being confident to shoot from distance.
Craig Fagan
Tonight is the former Hull and Derby man’s first start for the Shakers, having joined the club after leaving Bradford in the summer. Has played in the Premier League in days when he had lightning pace, but despite having been robbed of that due to a succession of injuries, still has an eye for goal.
Nick Ajose
The Peterborough loanee has given Bury a new lease of life since making the temporary move, and offers his side the chance to get in behind. Decent pace and keen to get into the box, Ajose can cause any teams trouble at this level.

ADVER CHIEF SPORTS WRITER SAM MORSHEAD: "It's a really important game tonight for more than just league position.
"Sure, Swindon can go top with a win if Leyton Orient do them a favour at Sheffield United, but against a struggling team this match will surely show whether or not the dynamic of Darren Ward and Tommy Miller in charge actually works.
SAM MORSHEAD
"Points cannot afford to be dropped tonight if automatic promotion remains top of the agenda. Tomorrow chairman Jed McCrory will meet with Ward and Miller to discuss the immediate future. If the players want to keep charge at the club they need to put in a shift this evening."

HEAD TO HEAD
Bury don’t make the trip to Swindon very well.
The Shakers have lost three-quarters of their matches at the County Ground over the years, haven’t won in 12 games spanning three-and-a-half decades and were the victims of Town’s crushing 8-0 victory in December 1979.
CHRIS KAMARA: SCORER IN TOWN'S RECORD 8-0 VICTORY OVER BURY IN 1979
The three games the Gigg Lane outfit have managed to take all the points from in the history of this fixture came within a four-meeting burst in the 1960s and 1970s but otherwise it has been nothing but doom and gloom for Bury in Wiltshire.
In recent years Town have been equally dominant over the Shakers at home, winning the last three clashes between the sides.
The most recent match came in November 2006, when Christian Roberts’ strike and an own goal from John Fitzgerald.

Have to say a very disappointing team selection. Macca is a liability at RB, why is Nat Thompson not being played, is he carrying a knock?. Midfield also weak, Navarro has to step up big time to replace Ferry, Up front de Vita, Collins and Williams hardly deserve a start after Saturday, really thought Adam Rooney would have got the nod over at least one of them.

Sound like the ref Adcock is having his usual mare, but to be fair we can't blame him for this team selection, it's more like the old boys club, the only surprise is we are only 1 down, there are too many players off the pace and half the team are really not good enough to be starting games.
Don't want to sound negative, but this was all so predictable when we were dropped in the scheite by the old board and then by Di Canio, expect he's having a good chuckle that our team cannot pass to each other without him and will probably make his day if we start dropping down the placings like a stone.
If we lose this game it will be 2 points from 9 against 3 teams we should be burying (excuse the pun) and with that kind of return we can write off any thoughts of Championship next season.

Why do we always shoot ourselves in the foot. We know Navarro and Miller do not work and we know Williams and Collins is a no no.
We know we need some creativity in midfield so we bring on a full back to bring some creativity.
A manager is needed not soon but now and a midfielder to give cover to Ferry, who is our only creative source, brought in on loan.
A team to be proud of is turning into a shambles and we will soon have the Scum coming back on our site with inane comments.
Please can we have some decisive action from the new board and a little urgency would not go amiss.

Very obvious we need the Pack deal reviving as well asap URGENTLY.
A. Rooney stat wise was our most accurate player tonight, and although stats don't tell the whole story, you need shots on target so you can score, useless have a thousand shots if they are not accurate.
If we have to, Rooney in for Raffa who I would put at the front as his preferred position is striker, he has only been a winger since he joined us.
Williams on the bench.

A managerial appointment is needed by next week at the latest. Despite what's been said I'd be amazed if there isn't a short list and some discussions been had.
We also need re-inforcements in midfield. Pack would fit the bill nicely and if L Rooney has to go the other way then we'll also need cover on the wing.
Coventry will be a real test on Saturday and if I were the Board I would put Pitman or Bodin in temporary charge. It would be unfair for things to turn nasty on Miller and Ward.

Have to agree though that some urgency is required on the manager front now - we need someone in place by the Cov game or we could be fast tumbling out of the play-offs.
McCrory & co have known for a week PDC was gone and for 3 weeks that this was a possibility. It beggars belief that they don't seem to have drawn up any sort of shortlist - even if they wanted to take their time over a permanent appointment (knowing which division we'll be playing in might affect this) I cannot believe that there isn't someone around who could have been brought in to to a job between now and May.

AS soon as PDCs backroom staff left we were left with 2 players in charge and now new owners who seem in no hurry to appoint a new manager.
As I said this afternoon....without the passion and influence of PDC we wouls start to slide down the table.
But,as stfcknowitall and a few other said, any half decent manager could of got us promoted last season, and no doubt can easily get us promoted this season with the high calibre od players that PDC was so lucky to be able to sign.!!!
What a load of crap!
This lot will continue to loose confidence and slide into oblivian if we do not get PDC back at the helm.
The low energy rubbish we have witnessed in the lasr 2 home games will continue at Coventry next Saturday.
Remember this...the players we have are very average...it is only the power and passion of PDC that propelled us to the top of L1...without him we will end up outside the playoffs....but off course still in business and safe and COMPLACENT.
I will say it again.....Come on Mc Crery.....phone up PDC and get him back in charge,or your takeover at the club will signify the time when we became a stable club, but lost the power and passion to challenge for the Championship
Bring back PDC...NOW!!!!!!!!

its for the club's benefit that this plan has been ruined so quick and they will need to find some money quickly. however i confidently predict they will go for the cheapest solution ie lower league manager crrently out of work.

Bury sensed blood and went in for the kill. Swindon, I hear, looked shell-shocked after Schumacher's goal and with recent events the player's minds must have been elsewhere.
We won't go down, but I am no longer convinced we will either go up or make the play-offs without a top manager coming in. Trouble is, the top managers tend to get snapped up quickly and only go where there is surplus cash to spend.
Recent events at SN1 will not have done much to market us to the Adkins and Jewell's of football management, and so I think we will probably only get a bog standard League 1/2 level manager.
Alan Shearer, Gareth Southgate or Roy Keane would be ideal cheap appointments.
For those wanting Adkins, I ask why would a Premiership standard manager drop down two leagues to manage a beleaguered Swindon Town side which has (and some argue still is) in a mess.
Paolo is in the past - and well do we know it!

The legacy of a good manager is the team he leaves behind. We were stuttering long before he left and we
continue to stutter. I used to disagree when some on here suggested he ruled by fear. Ferguson rules with a certain amount of fear, but at the same time he is developing his players young and not so young.

No blame attached to Miller and Ward - they have been placed in a very difficult position and have two jobs to do. On the field and off it.

The hoots of derision when Macca was announced as man of the match seconds after hoofing the ball into the DR were deafening. Doubtless the sponsors were either Macca's parents or they drew the name from the hat.
Although the return of the fiery stallion is unlikely I can't help making a comparison between him and old big'ead. Pdc said that these players are nothing without him and its hard to argue that and of course BC famously said " I wouldn't say I'm the best manager but I'm in the top one"
That was simply dire and it's hard to see where the next win is coming from - we're in Harry Styles mode - one direction heading south!

A week ago we won at Tranmere...with no new and only PDCs backroom staff running the team.
Do you not remember that so far this season we have lost to,
PNE away
The Pox away
Orient home
Colchester home
Crewe away
Villa away
Notts Co away
And add to that a few draws at home like Saturday where we were lucky.
When are people going to realise, its nice to win, but not our divine right to win. This period of time was always going to be difficult so why slag the players who are trying hard to hold things together until somebody else is found.

I was not impressed by one of the new owners on BBC Wiltshire with him rambling on about STFC needing to host concerts. I've just wasted £80 taking the family to see tonight's match & I then have to listen to someone say about bringing music concerts to the ground.
Well call me old fashioned but I pay my money to watch STFC play football.
If you've lost sight of this after less then a week as new owners then here's 2 less season ticket owners for a start next season.

I do blame Pdc and his ego for the last 2 performances. A man of the people wouldn't leave us this way as a consequence of his pride. I'm afraid that paolos words appear hollow to me now.
Wardy and miller are admirable senior players but we need an experienced hatchet man at the helm for the rest of the season to sort this.
It's not the time for a spunky new player manager type - even sir paolo (now disgraced) took some time to get off the ground.
It's time for me to take down the paolo statue from above the tv, put it with the two copies of his book and the signed photo in a box in the attic. It was a beautiful relationship but it ended badly and right now the scars are too raw. In years to come I'll smile again about the away day at Northampton last NYE.
In the meantime, I'm in the market for a new leader to get behind. ASAP.

Those calling for Benson have a look at his stats. He would not have scored today because the service just wasn't there.
Too many long balls, too many touches being taken before delivering the ball into the bos and then losing the opportunity.
Too many poor balls into the box that were behind the attackers meaning that they had to go backwards to attack the ball.
Not going to fault the effort and clapped the team off at the end.
Disgusted with the booes at the end. P1ss off to Poxford if that is your reaction. There has been one consistent feature at the club during the last few weeks and that is a group of players that still sit 4th in the league 1 table. Fifteen fit senior players, they give 100%, play poorly and are booed. Disgusting behaviour.
Other teams have had similarly poor results, The moneybags with the great manager have lost 3 on the bounce we lose our 1st game in 14 and the players get booed. Shocking.

We do need a manager for Saturday, big decision to be made as how many out of work managers would take it to end of season? If that's what the board decide to do, which seems logical, so they have time to select the permanent manager for next season and get the right person in.

Wiz, Nathan was my man of the match in the 1/2 hour he was on. Composed at the back, and supported the forwards without getting caught out after his runs dow the wing. Adam Rooney was next best with his strong running and anticipating passes. Luke clearly needs more game time. Collins also chased a lot of last causes. Other than that it was dire.

Read a few comments and got bored, particularly from those that were not there. We were poor, yes, and it was the midfield that let us down badly.
Shocking.
Support the lads they deserve better.

As I posted earlier it's the away games that will decide where we finish and the team get much better support from the fans at away games so hopefully they will play with less pressure as it will be on the home team to come at us.
A few more performances like Tranmere and we will be top of the league at end of season.

No blame attached to Miller and Ward - they have been placed in a very difficult position and have two jobs to do. On the field and off it.

Do you not remember that so far this season we have lost to, PNE away The Pox away Orient home Colchester home Crewe away Villa away Notts Co away And add to that a few draws at home like Saturday where we were lucky. When are people going to realise, its nice to win, but not our divine right to win. Agree regarding Paolo, I don't belive he will come back. If he does I will support him because I want Town to succeed.
There is lots of talk of dropping such and such a player and having Miller/Ward on the sidelines but with all due respect we only have 14/15 fit senior players at the moment.
I don't normally name sides but I felt that the 11 that finished the game with Roberts for Luke Rooney would be a very strong side. Raffa was poor again tonight, Navarro is not up to speed and Luke Rooney with a few more games could be a diamond.
We desperately need some re-inforcements because any injury is going to really hit the squad. These need to come in before a new manager IMO. Ward and Miller have played for a few years and will have a decent idea of the abilities of players that are on the fringes of teams but may be tempted to join us.
A new manager is a massive decision, new loanees not so much so. I say trust Miller and Ward to pick some players and take a bit of time to choose the new Paolo.

The stick that was bellowed out to players that wore the shirt tonight was poisonous and deserved a well below par performance - for pity's sake the lads ALL tried and needed motivation and lifting from the fans.
Instead they were booed - appalling - I was there and attempts to verbally support (my team) did not happen and I felt for the lads after the week they have had.
The unedifying shrieks heard to substitute Navarro and then one of the biggest yelps of derision when it happened by some of the mob present would have been more appropriate at an 18th century public execution.
Navarro was poor - yes - but he is not match fit and was injured on Saturday but at least he tried and wore the shirt and IMO only should be supported as all the team should be.
McCormack had one of his better games of late and was trying to drive his below par team mates on - he played a bad ball towards the end of the game just before he was named MoM and the howls of disbelief heard by (some) fans makes me wonder if some of these supporters have ever actually played the game in their life - probably not, I guess.
If you were there you could see the responsibilities of management was weighing heavily on both Ward and Miller, their combined worst performances for weeks. How they both needed a sustained and resounding 'Ward and Millers Red and White Army' chant but of course, this did not happen (just briefly in the first half) , when it was so obvious SOMEONE needed to lift the team.
Much was wrong tonight on the playing field but we as supporters let the team down tonight IMHO - anybody that even suggests they pay for the privilege to pillory, spit poison, jeer, boo and as the game wore on progressively increase an acid atmosphere, please do not bother to turn up again (sorry Jed).
The team needs a manager, I wish it was Paolo but I have begrudgingly moved on from this ( :-( ) but the TEAM also needs the AWAY support at home - all is not lost but we as supporters should do our bit 100% too.

I think you are right, people have mentioned fear of Paolo as a reason for not performing on occasions but judging by tonight's reception I think it may have been in fear of the home crowd's reaction.
We have been getting better results away where there is less pressure. Nobody seems to want to win this league and it is away from home that we hold the key as we have to play most of our rivals. Win away and draw at home and promotion could still be ours.

Sadly I've got to agree with Joey - the poor performances started before Christmas. The only inspiring games since then were the two Tranmere games, one before and the other after he left.
The legacy of a good manager is the team he leaves behind. We were stuttering long before he left and we
continue to stutter. I used to disagree when some on here suggested he ruled by fear. Ferguson rules with a certain amount of fear, but at the same time he is developing his players young and not so young.
What is Paolo's legacy?
I am not sure if PDC left us a legacy at all, only that we are very lucky to still have a club, despite his best efforts to pour good money after bad.
I do not understand all the comments , if not desperate requests for him to come back, he quit for heaven's sake?
Miller threw the towel over the ropes in his post match interview Tuesday evening, which I certainly do not blame either him or Ward for, but we are in freefall now, heading down very fast, but at least we still have a club.
If the new Board bring PDC back now, I think their credibility will be damaged beyond repair, after less than a week in charge.

NT was and is class and should have started but not on long enough to deserve MoM
All huffed and puffed but A Rooney no better really - I do believe that Willo performed better when employed as a wide midfield player and L Rooney did not give the ball away very often but to me he does look unfit and a little overweight.
We need some new blood, a decent manager or stop gap and a bit of luck for automatic - I fear the play offs.
Would you consider Williams on the wing give his pace and normally good crosses into the box ??
I'll leave it there for tonight, laters maybe, I think I'm destined for a stay elsewhere right now, hope not.

Paolo doesn't give 2 **** about this club, that's why he left when he did in the way that he did. Walked away with his whole team leaving us in it, I think you will find a lot of fans think more of the club than they do Paolo
Don't think he has thanked us fans,i don't care if he doesn't,he is welcome back,IMO.

The worst performer at the CG tonight IMO only and THE one that should hang their head/s in shame are the supporters.

Well if anyone is under any illusions about even making the playoffs after taking 2 points from 9, from 3 home games, they are clearly suffering delusions of grandeur.

Di Canio will not be coming back and its time to move on. Luke Rooney is back in the squad, McCormack is back as captain so What will Di Canio do with them two. No not going to happen and we have to look at others and be quick. I seriously do not think promotion is realistic anymore and believe we need a manager to steady the ship. Now the shackles are off watch the players self destruct that tonight was shameful.

We lost tonight.. On reflection, no wonder considering a large proportion of the team got hammered Saturday night in Old Town!

Okus Road wrote:It's a shame that PMH isn't still open in your neck of the woods- you could have admitted yourself with hallucinatory symptoms.
As poor as we were tonight it's the away form that will decide where we finish in the league, starting Saturday at Coventry then Brentford, Yeovil, Doncaster, Sheffield Utd win those and we are league champions easy !!!!
At least most of the other top teams dropped points tonight "squeaky bum" time for all.
We do need a manager for Saturday, big decision to be made as how many out of work managers would take it to end of season? If that's what the board decide to do, which seems logical, so they have time to select the permanent manager for next season and get the right person in.
More interesting times ahead
Are you seriously trying to tell us that having thrown away 7 points from 3 home games we can go and win the league by winning all the away games against all our closest rivals after a performance like that tonight? I'd love to think you'd be right but that's surely one hell of an ask!

How about starting a new article at 10pm or once the interviews are finished just giving a few bullet points of scorers etc.
Will give everybody a fresh page to comment and discuss on then instead of having to trawl through a load of commentry and Pre match talk to get down to the recent comments?
