Will Westcarr end up with egg on his face?

Craig Westcarr Craig Westcarr

CRAIG Westcarr expects to run a gauntlet of rotten eggs when he takes to the County Ground pitch tomorrow.

The Walsall striker scored against Swindon Town and was involved in an unsavoury incident with Joe Devera during the Johnstone’s Paint Cup final last season while with Chesterfield, and he revealed in the build-up to this weekend’s game that he has already had Robins’ supporters putting the boot into him via social media.

The conversations have only made Westcarr more motivated to put in a big performance in Wiltshire on Saturday, however, and he expects Town to be a tough test for the Saddlers.

“I’ll get some stick off their fans, I’ve been getting some in the last couple of weeks on Twitter from them so it’ll be interesting,” he said.

“I’m looking forward to it. I scored against them for Chesterfield last year and I had an incident where me and one of their guys had a bit of a scuffle.

“So the fans have been giving me some rubbish banter they’ve been saying ‘we can’t wait until you come, we’re going to egg you’.

“I’ll be dodging rotten eggs from Swindon fans. But it’ll be a good test for us to show how far we’ve come.

“It’s a perfect game for us, on a good pitch and we’re looking forward to it. The bigger the game the better for us.

“Swindon are in a bit of transition where everyone is a bit wary so we’re looking forward to it. It’s definitely a huge game for them.”

Doubt if Joe will start and after 4 games with no clean sheet, it's time to tighten up at the back again, I never like to predict results because if I do it all goes horribly wrong.

So I'll just keep fingers and toes crossed and hope we see the real Town tomorrow and none of that hoof ball that has let us down so badly at home this season.
