We looked like best in league - N'Guessan
DANY N’Guessan thought Swindon Town looked like “the best team in the league” during their 3-2 defeat at Wolves on Saturday.
The former Millwall man, who didn’t train until Thursday last week due to a minor injury problem, came off the bench to net his first goal for his new club in the 82nd minute, the culmination of an entire match’s worth of pressure on the Wolves goal by a Town side playing exhilarating football throughout.
And after the game he spoke of how impressed he was by the way he and his teammates passed the ball around their hosts, leaving some of League One’s most expensive players chasing shadows for long period.
He said: “It’s not just the first half, for me we played better than them and we thought this might be the best team in the league but watching the game we looked like the best team in the league.
“It’s disappointing not to go back with something but we have to keep going and keep positive and keep playing like this.
“Personally I thought we played very well and I think if people know football they will see that we can play very good football. We were unlucky not to get something today but it happens sometimes and we have to stay positive.”
N’Guessan has now made two substitute appearances for the Robins following his deadline day move from the New Den, and he is biding his time waiting for a chance to impress manager Mark Cooper for the start.
“I spoke to the gaffer and I just have to wait for my chance and when it comes I have to take my chance,” he said. “Of course I want to start but we’ve got very good young players so I’ll wait and see.
“Big Nile (Ranger) is a big powerful player and I enjoyed playing with him. It wasn’t that long but I enjoyed it and hopefully I will have more time to play with him soon.
