TROY Archibald-Henville will not be part of Swindon Town manager Mark Cooper’s plans for “the foreseeable future” after undergoing a knee operation.

The centre-back, who has only played eight times for Town since his £200,000 move from Exeter in June 2012, has not featured in the red of the Robins for more than a year and saw a recent loan stint at Carlisle cut short through injury.

Since returning to the County Ground from Brunton Park he has gone under the knife and Cooper has now told the Advertiser he expects Archibald-Henville to be out for a prolonged period, saying: “Troy’s had an operation on his knee so he’s not going to be in our thinking for the foreseeable future.”

When asked whether that could mean months on the sidelines, Cooper said: I would think so, he’s had a knee operation.”

Meanwhile, Wes Foderingham and Nathan Thompson continue to struggle with injuries and neither will be available for tonight’s Johnstone’s Paint Trophy clash with Wycombe.

Foderingham did not train on Monday due to a back problem while Thompson is still receiving treatment on the bone bruising he received during the 5-2 victory over Port Vale.

“Wes is still struggling with his back, he didn’t train this morning so he’ll be a doubt for tomorrow night,” said Cooper.

“Nathan Thompson is still struggling and will be unavailable tomorrow. We’re hoping he’ll be available for the weekend.

“Wes has got a really stiff back so we’re just trying to manage that day to day, but if there’s any risk with him then he won’t play.

“We need to change one or two, some need to play more than others but it’s a game we want to win so we need to be as strong as we can.”
