MK DONS v TOWN: Greer and Austin dropped for Dons trip

TOWN captain Gordon Greer and striker Charlie Austin have been dropped to the bench for tonight's League One clash away at Milton Keynes Dons.

The pair are replaced by Sean Morrison and Vincent Pericard in the starting line-up and are the only two changes from Saturday's 4-0 defeat by Bristol Rovers.

Pericard makes his full debut following his January switch from Carlisle, having had to be patient in his quest for a start with Austin and Billy Paynter in impressive form.

But manager Danny Wilson has decided it is time for a change, and the ex-Juventus man gets his chance to impress.

TOWN (4-4-2): David Lucas; Kevin Amankwaah, Scott Cuthbert, Sean Morrison, Alan Sheehan; Jon-Paul McGovern, Simon Ferry, Jonathan Douglas (c), Danny Ward; Billy Paynter, Vincent Pericard

Subs: Phil Smith, Gordon Greer, Lecsinel Jean-Francois, Michael Timlin, Craig Easton, Matt Ritchie, Charlie Austin

MK DONS (4-4-2): Wily Gueret; Danny Woodards, David McCracken, James Tunnicliffe, Dean Lewington (c); Luke Chadwick, Mark Carrington, Peter Leven, Mark Randall; Jermaine Easter, Aaron Wilbraham

Subs: Stuart Searle, Sol Davis, Jude Stirling, Mathias Doumbe, Sean O'Hanlon, Luke Howell, Dean Morgan

I thought there might be changes, I suspect he's tryijng to freshen things up in areas he has cover... Let's be fair, we definitely need further cover in other areas too.
Good luck tonight - U Reds...!!!

Not sure it's about freshening things up - I thought we were ok on Saturday and normally would have won that game comfortably with our level of performance that day. I think Charlie could do with a rest - he's been fantastic but might be better for a rest. Not sure abour Pericard though - I've seen nothing to impress me so far. Greer also could benefit from a rest and Morrison's looked decent in his recent appearances. I think this is more about resting key players for the even more difficult trips comming up. I hope we don't go up this season though from the position we're in now it couldn't feel like anything but disappointment but, given that Ward, Sheehan and Ferry aren't Swindon players and have probably been our best players this season, we'd be pretty lightweight in the Championship without some very serious investment. I'd like to see us build the squad again this summer with those type of players on contracts rather than loans.

At least Pericard has an opportunity to show what he is capable of tonight. On what I've seen from him so far I'm not convinced. He has looked lazy and not particulalrly interested. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt though and say that coming on for a few minutes at the end of a game is never easy. If he puts in a good performance tonight he'll keep the shirt for Saturday. He's a big lad and we keep being told he's a real handful for defenders. Hopefully we'll see a bit of that tonight.

Changes well I suppose it had to happen and surprise there were not more to be honest. Players are looking tired so no harm in trying something different and I feel its important to let others start a game to see what they can bring to the game. Big Vince needs to start a game rather than come on late on and try and get into the game. Charlie good be good foil coming on later when there are tired legs on the other side. Greer I feel has been poor last few games and certainly is in need of a rest. Like Paynter when he got rested he came back much better. Danny can either win or loose with his brave changes but at least it positive management I believe.
COME ON TOWN 3 POINTS WILL DO.

It's a lot easier to impress with 90 minutes than15 or 20. I reckon Pericard will do well this eve, he's a good player!

Mistake by Wilson. Morrison's inclusion will cost us this game. Sorry for the negativity, just an honest opinion

Blimey 1-0 down already and Morrisons mistake after minutes. Come on lads get it together. Dons are really going for it by the sound of things and trying to catch us early, game could be over by half time at this rate.

OHHHHHHH Billy has just hit the bar. Apparently that is 17 times we have hit the woodwork this season according to stats. "security" word is interesting as it says "spot-give" does that mean a penalty to Town.

Think we need Charlie on second half. Sounds like Pericard's work rate is a bit questionable.

Just need some positive tactics for the second half. Bloody woodwork is their extra defender tonight!

Here we go , the big slump has well and truely started !! . Why are we the only club not to have brought any fresh players in on loan ?? . Every day i see on sky sports news various league 1 clubs bringing in players , why arn't ? .... gonna cost us big time i think !!

2-0 Game over unless Danny throws caution to the wind and puts 10 up front. Douglas has hit the post and so has Paynter again how is this luck deserting us, woodwork 3 times.

This is the time this Pericard should be thinking - time to impress and stake my claim - but again he is failing to impress - I'm losing patience with him - please prove me wrong and score the winning goal for us - or at least one goal to prove at least you know which we way are kicking

2-1 LOSS Oh dear looks like our luck is just so bad at the moment what can you do when we hit the woodwork 3 times and was it twice on Saturday as well. Blimey talk about bad luck. Keep the faith fans as its all to easy to panic and get very negative. 3 hard away games I would take a draw from each so a win at Brighton is now a must.
